Anyway, I've noticed something odd with the profiles that I've sent off to Ken. It seems that the profiles still exist on-line, but they no longer appear in the search.

I have noticed this too. Deleted profiles still seem to turn up among the search results in the "credit lookup" feature as well, which is a pity, since a lot of these are ill-maintained profiles (often never updated since they were automatically ported over from Intervocative to Invelos) containing questionable data at best...

I've finally done 'T'... all 7k+ of them. I got a bit zombie like at time, so is anyone wiling to give my list of removals a once over (take out anything I left in when I shouldn't have)? There's less than 2000 of them.

I'll have an 'N' please Bob.

Stuart

I'll have a review of your T's if you want.

Personally, I think we should get someone to review them all before we submit them to Ken.

Finally finished "C" - I don't know how you guys get through them so quickly!
Does someone want to review my list? Let me know.
And I'll tackle "I" next if no one has any objections

The "I"s have (had) it!
If anyone's keeping count I had 624 bad "C" profiles out of 2695 and 225 bad "I" profiles out of 919.
Unless someone wants to check my databases I'll send both backups to Ken on Monday.
Unfortunately my shifts change as of tomorrow, so I'm not going to have the time to take on another letter just yet.

Try sorting the list by upc. That works for me.

And we started with the 'easy' letters first where there were fewer profiles to wade through.

I am only halfway through N so far

Whilst looking via DVDP at the 'Upcoming Releases' tonight I see that we are still getting Non UK releases added to the UK Locality

I noticed "Das Comeback" when I was doing the Cs. It was in the database I sent to Ken, maybe he hasn't gone through it yet.
But it is a pain that people are still creating these incorrect profiles.

A program improvement would help:

Compare the locality of the PC (you choose that during installation) against the submitted DVD. In case this does not match, inform the screeners with a warning line or even better add a []-Box in the submission screen that the submitter of the profiles has to confirm in this case (as it is done for the Birthyear).

Cheers, NEWT0N

Not practical...reason if you buy your PC in country A but you come from country B perhaps you would prefer language B
ie
ya_shin I believe lives out in the Far East, but comes (if memory serves correct) from Germany, so therefore could have a (Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese) local purchased PC but have a European install of the OS.

So a check by this system would not work.

currency must match locality

Looking at some of the new wrong locality submissions they are listing euros as SRP, this will never be the case. Surely it cannot be difficult to program this in??? Ken??

The ones listed above are all Dutch ("Seizoen" is Dutch for series/UK or season/US). Apart from the Will & Grace box, they're all from children's TV programmes dating back to my childhood.

The other ones are German (or at least German language) except Au-Dela du reel: l'aventure continue, saison 1 EAN: 3700259830102 (French).

I must admit to wishing that the 2.x database never came across. That would have sorted R2 UK out pretty well.

yeah and it would have left 1000's of profiles out of the database which people would have to redo again...no thanks..this UK issue is a minor problem compared to the alternative.

Not necessarily. If the profiles were valid and needed then all people had to do was resubmit the 2.x version without having to redo anything.
That's how the bulk of the new database was created.
