Is this possible.

It sounds trivial, but if I was able to click an eject button after setting the DiscID, the disc would be out of the drive by the time I reach over to grab it. This would save me having to wait for the drive to eject after pressing the button on the drive tray.
cheers

Yes, I'd like to see that. Little detail that make a decent difference.

But then, that also shows how lazy we are

Well, if we are adding lazy features, I want a button that will go to the other room and get the DVD off the shelf when I click it!

We might as well finish the job and have a button that will put it back when you're finished watching it.

This reminds me of an article in PC Pro once. One of the columnists once devoted his entire page to complaining about DVDs going back to the menu screen after the feature had finished. The reason was he like to fall asleep in front of the TV without bothering to get up, and the loud menus woke him up!

He'd love features like this.

For the n-th time I realized today that it would be awesome if I could opn/close the DVD drive right from within the program. I would like to have an Eject button too!

My drive is one of those hidden ones which will push-open a "door" when opening. I cannot reach the physical eject button and always going to Windows Explorer to is a bit of a pain. Or anyone know a Windows command I could use like a shortcut...?

http://www.grc.com/wizmo/wizmo.htm

I haven't used Wizmo itself (on the to do list) but it is free and Gibson's other little freeware tools are small and simple.

It looks like you could create a shortcut that would command it to open or close a specific drive.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

While I agree with Addicted2DVD's solution (I'm not a parent but I've done similar; call someone over to take out the disc) I have a real solution.

Open the mycomputer folder, right click on the dvd drive, select eject.

you can also try this site

[edit]
and another

There must be a way to do it without a 3rd party software...hopefully I can find one.

There is. It's called 'wife' (or 'partner')
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

just found this link, has a way to do it from a web page (html window) using a vbscript that uses the windows media player eject function

link

If I have time tonight or over the weekend i'll see about putting together an html window for it.

Thanks Agrare, the links you provided seem quite workable already.

Of course, If you would somehow manage to incorporate into a functional HTML window I'd be even happier

I often have DVDInfoPro open when I'm adding a profile by discID (or adding discID TO a profile) and there's an eject function in DVDInfoPro that I'll use.  But I agree that this would be a time-saving feature to be added to DVDP.
