Hello

I got shocked yesterday. What I did: I made an own custom mediatype Blu-ray 3D with it's own logo. That works perfect. Now I did give all my 3D films in addition to the normal mediatype from the online database this mediatype 3D. I recognized only at film 150 about, that each time I mark the custom mediatype also the field Regions changed to B, standard for Europe and I am in Switzerland. So now, all my 3D films have region B due to this and I don't know which of them, there are many, have regioncodefree anymore. Support tells me that it is like this, when you give a custom mediatype then region changes to the default value of your profiler. They told me that they don't know why it is like this and that I should make a future request here.

So, I request a change. When giving a custom mediatype to a film it really should not change anything in the regions field, you agree? I believe it's even not wanted now, it's just a program bug.

Thanks,

Fritz Keller

What happened when you refreshed the profiles?
Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. [Ken Cole, DVD Profiler Architect]

Well, maybe.

Problem is, the region field is irreversible linked to the media-type. A BD simply can't have R1-6, a DVD can't have A-C, and a custom media type for CDs, LDs and VHS shouldn't have either.

So if Ken goes down this road something like
"Region-code handling: [ ] BD    [ ] DVD    [ ] None"
might be necessary.

what I don't understand is that I have a custom type of Blu Ray - and the films in this are not all region B - so I have some that are B, some ABC etc.

I'm not seeing the behaviour described where the profiles were all changed  to B, so I don't understand why Swissfilm had this problem??
