I propose an option for child profiles that they are not counted for the credit count.

I'm not sure about that...

I understand that sometime, you have DVD+Blu-ray of the same movie, but usually, child profiles are not the same movie (just take "The Adventures of Indiana Jones" or "The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy" for example).

And since the rules states that we can't put any cast/crew in the parent profile of a box set, we should not have any problem with credit counts.

But maybe that would be an appropriate option for DVD+Blu-ray combo
Certainty of death...
Small chance of success...
What are we waiting for ?!

While this would be useful for TV series where season sets have optional disc-level child profiles and for combo releases with the Blu-ray profile as the parent and the DVD profiles an an optional child profile, it would not work for box sets with child profiles for individual films, as Frodonf points out.

So your option would have to be release-specific and cannot be applied across the board.

I agree with what the others are saying... for it to work it would have to be on a per profile basis.

If the cast / crew information is that important to you, check out Database Query.  It will count people and makes a far better attempt at filtering out duplicates.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.

Might work as another "Exclusion", "Exclude from Credit/Cast Count" or something like it.
