| Posted: June 19, 2012 7:02 PM | | | | When I got started with DVD Profiler, I made the mistake of using the 'Edition' field to note which of my movie cases and slots the dvd was in (I don't remember seeing the "location" and "slot" fields under the "personal information" section.
I would like to copy that information to the "location" field instead, but can't figure a way to do it. Was hoping a plug in may help. I have thousands of dvds that I don't want to lose the info on.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Try BulkEditThat should be capable of doing that. Be careful, this is a powerful tool, so it can with great power screw things up so a backup is absolutely recommended! Install it and toy around with it a bit at first. To solve you problem you would have to copy the "Edition" into "Location" and "Slot" and then employing some Dark Magic (RegEx) depending on how exactly those Editions look like. cya, Mithi (off to bed then work, back in 18 hours) | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

Well, exactly this is a problem, right now this doesn't work. There would be a way around this utilizing the XML-Export, but I think that should be used only as a last resort. I'll ask the author of the Plugin if the copy-function is easily enhanced. stay tuned, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

Okay, I contacted the author of BulkEdit, and he is willing to incorporate this function into the next version that will be out soonish. I try to work out the necessary Regular Expressions in the meantime. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

So they don't know that you fixed the problem for them. |

Then he doesn't even bother to check the forum. Anyway, don't mind me ... Just sitting here sweltering in the heat, too *^%$ lazy to work on plugins or the house or anything else. So, I complain and look for some sympathy ... So, thanks for that. Maybe now I will get up off my ... and do some work. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here.
