In times where networks become more and more common even in private houses it would indeed make sense to integrate a server application that allows simultaneous access.

But this (AFAIK) would always require that the application is running on the server, so the option to synchronize without any instance of DVDProfiler running will not work.

As a workaround you may want to take the following into consideration:

1) Copy the database-folder of DVDProfiler to a NAS
2) Point the DVDProfiler installations on your workstations to this location

Depending on the configuration of your network this will even allow you direct access from remote locations (Static IP-adress required!).
The only problem: Only one user at a time can access the database.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

It's true that there would need to be an instance of DVDProfiler running on the server, but it could be like a 'light' version without the GUI, providing only basic database access for the clients.

But, if there's not going to be a 'Dvdprofiler Background Service', at least it would be great to be able to hide the running program, eg. by being able to minimize it to the system tray and not to the taskbar.
