I started playing around with "Gallery" on a free hosting-site for my retouched Covers (see) and I think about open it up for re-release covers too. Uploading would of course be restricted to registered users.
Any comments/suggestions on this?

As you can see with the one title submitted I'm not quite sure how to structure it.
Album - Letter - Picture
or
Album - Letter - Movie-title - Picture

For the retouched ones it is pretty much necessary to get them in a sub-album, but I'm not really sure with re-releases.

And be sure to have a look at the ReadMe for e.g. the naming-scheme and tagging.

Hello Mithi,

Let me know how this is working out. If you put up a better system than me, I can transfer the covers I collected over to your site.

Regards,
Chris

Oh ... well ... maybe I should have mentioned the URL in the first post ... wouldn't that be a splendid idea?

Not something I would use (and I don't have the skills to do any) but I do love those BHC covers

I use this there's a fee to get the full benfits of it but well worth the money if you don't want to fork out for a scanner.

So far all we can see is that the site is under review?

so, I wrote a How-to, let the contribution mayhem begin
The site is a bit sluggish and from time to time you get SQL-Server-Errors, but you get what you pay for, and its for free.

just uploaded:
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Seasons 1-7 and Star Trek: Voyager: Seasons 1-7 Childs for Region 2 (Slimlines)
The 5 to 7 Disk are distributed in 4 Slim-Cases, so following the rules you get covers with the numbers 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4 ... which looks awful. So I took the best looking child-cover from each season, retouched the number and episode indicator.

Uploaded American Pie - 025192073526-R1 US. I can add DVD as a tag, but not my username. That gets translated to <!-- www.000webhost.com Analytics Code -->

In order to transfer all covers from my site to yours, I need a way to credit the original contributors, as I don't want to attach them all to my name.

Fixed. I've seen this before, its seems to be an error in the auto-suggest for this field. Easy solution, ignore the suggestions, simply type away and do not press <tab> or <enter> but mouse-click somewhere, the defunct description-field e.g., before hittin [OK]

Had this also. Adding the Tag later with the options on the right side of the windows works also very good.

I just added one of my re-release cover scans. Bringing Out the Dead  R1 US DVD.

As a first time user I found the system a little confusing. I basically had to keep a tab open with the about page loaded and follow step by step how to add titles.

Over all I like it... good job Mithi!... but I do think people new to the site may get pretty confused on the process pretty easy. Though personally I think after I do a few I should be fine.
