| Posted: June 16, 2010 12:46 PM | | | | After uploading my on-line profile to a new install of v.3.6.1 b.1392, I have about 200 titles that filled in the Sort Title field with the same title (in this case, Heavenly Creatures). Any idea why this occurred? It's going to be a pain to have to edit all affected profiles to clear that field... |

| Posted: June 16, 2010 12:49 PM | | | | Edit: Unfortunately I have no idea why it happened. I've just looked at your online collection and see that's got the problem too - they've all been given the collection number of 371 as well. Just to be clear - is the sort title problem in your local collection, your online collection or both? Do you have a recent backup you could restore? Edit 2: another thought - have a look at the BulkEdit plugin - that may allow you to remove the faulty sort titles en masse, though I'm not sure if it will also allow you to repopulate the field based on the dvd title as well. | | | Last edited: June 16, 2010 1:17 PM by northbloke |

| Posted: June 16, 2010 4:28 PM | | | | thanks for the quick response! There is also a lot of 572's in that online list as well. It appears the problem stems from the online collection list, and synchronizing that to my PC upstairs. The originating collection (downstairs) that I uploaded appears to be fine. I can try to re-upload the db and see if anything happens, but I just did this yesterday (when it all went south) so I doubt it will fix it. And no, I don't have an older db to restore edit: I uploaded the db again, which appeared to correct the problem with the online list. I uploaded it to the screwed up PC and it all appears to be fine now. Thanks again for the timely response! Funny thing, I just noticed you and I registered this program within two days of each other, small world... | | | Last edited: June 16, 2010 4:50 PM by BackyardGriller |

I'm also glad he got it all sorted out. But for future reference, there is a row by row copy that should be able to overwrite the Sort Title with Title - assuming that is what you meant. There are 3 options: prepend target with source, overwrite target and append source to target. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. But it was the thought that counts .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
