| Posted: | | | | A few questions regarding this title... 1) What's the title? Most Nova releases seem to be called "Nova: ..." in the database, so in my contribution I entered "Nova: What are Dreams?". I'm not 100% satisfied that this is correct, but this is the way most retailers list Nova titles (either that, or "Nova - ..."). Thoughts? 2) Exactly what is Nova? Is it a company? A series? Or what? Currently I have PBS and BBC listed as companies. 3) The end titles contains "Narrator: James Effros" in the middle of the crew listing. I have listed him in the cast section. Would that be correct, or should I have omitted him? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Hi Gunnar, This particular Nova seems to be a PBS science documentary series. More about it here. There is also a distributor company called Nova, but the two seem to be unrelated. Therefore I would say: "Nova: What Are Dreams?" or even "Nova: What Are Dreams?: Inside the Sleeping Brain" would be correct for the Title field. With regard to your last question: in my experience (I have quite a few documentaries) it is not uncommon to have a Narrator credit somewhere in the middle of the Crew list. I always include them as Cast, with Narrator as role and the Voice only box ticked. Documentaries typically do not have what DVDP calls "standard credits" including a Cast list. Often as far as Cast goes there is just one Narrator credit, which can be anywhere in the credits. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | Nova is a tv series that usually airs(aired) on PBS. Thus this would seem to be an episode of the Nova tv series.
The title itself is a tad confusing and there are a few possibilities. Nova could or wouldn't be part of that title. Also I'm not sure about the "Inside the Sleeping Brain" part. Is that just describing the episode or is it part of the title.
I'll let others chime in on that one. |

| Posted: | | | | "Nova" is the series title, so it should be included. "What are Dreams?" is the episode title, so it should also be included. "Inside the Sleeping Brain" seems more like a subtitle or brief description and I am not sure that I would include it...though I would not vote 'no' if you chose to do so. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. For the possible sub-title, I would look at the back of the package and the title card of the film to see if it is treated as a sub-title. Otherwise, I would omit it. The webpage for the episode doesn't seem to have it: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/dreams/about.html |
