| Posted: | | | | If you've purchased a Blu-Ray title for any Universal Studios film, you have no doubt seen the phrase "U Control" on the cover (or slip cover).
This appears (to me, at least) to not be an actual feature but is instead a proprietary name that only Universal uses to promote pretty much any of the new features that became possible on the new format.
But I will occasionally see contributions where U Control is being entered under Other Features, even when those same features have already been covered under the specific new checkboxes such as Picture in Picture or are otherwise described elsewhere (D-Box, Video Commentary, etc).
I can't really bring myself to vote no on these, but I'm interested to learn what the community concensus is on this. I only came up with three poll options, but if there's another choice I missed, by all means please share.... |

| Posted: | | | | As far as I'm concerned, we track what the actual features are, not so much what they're called. For instance, if all "U Control" engrosses on a certain disc is some picture-in-picture content, I'd tick the appropriate checkbox, and leave it at that. So no "U Control" in the "other features" field then - if the feature is already catered for, then there's no need. |

| Posted: | | | | Definitely agree with T!M on this one. I'd go with what the feature actually involves and not what the Studio decides to call it. |

| Posted: | | | | For someone that isn't familiar with U-control, can somebody explain to me what it is? From what little information I've managed to gather, I agree with T!M, but I might have misunderstood the whole concept. | | | The colour of her eyes, were the colour of insanity |

| Posted: | | | | Take a look here. I think earlier I read somewhere on the Invelos forums it's Universal's version of Picture-in-Picture, but can also comprise more than just that. |

I agree with you there - it's not always simply a PiP, but from what I've seen so far, it is exactly that in a majority of cases. But in those cases where there's something else involved beyond just Picture-in-Picture, I'd like to see that specific feature textually described in the 'Other Features' field rather than simply the term U Control. If it is just Picture-in-Picture, includeing the term 'U Control' is actually redundant, isn't it? But again, that's just my take on this. So far, there's doesn't really appear to be an outright consensus among us that I can see. | | | Last edited: by MsPaula |

Even if it would just be a picture in picture, the content of this PiP could be very different, so I wouldn't track it under this. I would track it as other feature. (If we think about what sometimes is included as other features, this is also worthy) Imho it's a special kind of presentation of some different features. | | | Last edited: by VirusPil |

| Posted: | | | | From what i could gather from dee1959jay link, its interactive extras (or something like that). But U-control is a brand name and should not be included. |
