I provided 10 different sources for Joe Montana's, the NFL Player, BY, but the contribution was declined with this reason stated:  "Please use birth years only to distinguish between otherwise identical cast and crew. New birth year submissions must be documented."  Well, this was the "distinguishing" I provided:  NFL player Joe Montana (1956) (also played himself in season 20 of The Simpsons)

Actor Joe Montana (????) (in the database for Bourne Identity, also in Foyle's War, Keen Eddie)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0598922/
http://www.instantcast.com/AllStars/Joe_Montana_(actor)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Montana_(actor)

As hard as tried, I  could not find a BY the the Bourne Identity Joe Montana.  But I can state for a fact that Joe Montana, the San Francisco 49er, was NOT in BI.

What other proof did I need to provide?
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

Could this be the reason?

If we really believe that cut off notes are the reason (no documentation on the second Joe Montana would have been visible to the screeners), then you simply need to cut down on the number of links for the first Joe Montana. Just list five instead of ten, which would leave room for documentation on the second one.

To quote Gerri from another thread

Quote:
In your contributions, you provided many links to sources for birth years, but you did not specify enough information about the actors themselves in the notes. In your notes, you should include which movies and or roles each person was in. You don't have to list them all, but you need to list something. "Actor X in movie Y is not the same as the producer of movie Z who also has name X", and also provide links to support both of their birth years, or at least the birth year you are adding.

As far as I can see, he provided the documentation, but didn't say why the BY was needed. Something along the lines of "BY for Joe Montana the NFL player to separate him from the Joe Montana in Bourne Identity".

All information on the second actor was cut off. I would suggest limiting your information on the first one so that the information on the second is visible to the screeners.

Regular users can click the "Notes" icon to read all the notes if they cut off.  Screeners can't do that?

Thanks Gerri, will do!

Eric

P.S.:  I did also post all of the links in my original contribution to the BY thread (pg. 33)
