What I would like to see is the possibilty to be able to merge profiles with the same UPC/EAN but have been entered with and extra digit that are in the wrong region rather than having to ask for them to be deleted, this would enable to person making the change to be able to accept any missing information and then contribute the changes as per normal using the correct UPC/EAN and would also remove the wrong UPC/EAN from the Database. I currently have a ordered list of over 14,000 profiles that have been entered in to the UK Region 2 list in error. Some people have been going through these already but I think that this would help to save some time with this issue.

I'm not sure if merging would be a good idea.
Simply because most of these profiles with incorrect localities are lost profiles and in most cases there would be a better profile already existing in the correct locality. These better profiles might be destroyed (or at least incorrectly altered) by a simple merge.

Probably the better idea would be the ability to delete profiles from the database for a selected group of users. This might work in combination with a "Report to Invelos"-button, or in cases like yours with simply designating this job to people who care.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

My imipression is that Moses merely used the Ordered tab to collect all profiles he could find with a wrong locality.

I'm not fond of the idea to allow users to remove profiles from the database, because I don't know where that will end (who is to verify that it's being done for the right reasons?). I would however support a way to submit such profiles directly to the screeners for immediate removal.

deejay:

It's not hard, usually, to figure out whether a UPC is fictional or not. Any made up UPCs should be removed. We probably still have some VHS and Laserdisc titles in the system as well.

Judging by a quick look at Moses' ordered list, most of these profiles don't have a made-up UPC, but belong to a different European locality (saw some with overviews in German, Danish etc.). Could be that these profiles date back to the very earliest days of DVDP, when there were just regions and no localities (at least that's what I read on these forums at some point - it's before my time here). Am I correct in thinking that when localities were introduced, all existing R2 profiles got UK for locality? That could be your explanation right there.
