According to this article, Universal will release double sided Blu-ray discs with BD on one side and DVD on the other. In other words, exactly like the HD DVD combo.

Currently it's not possible to check both DVD and Blu-ray for a profile, and if they actually do release these disks (the first batch is due in about 7 weeks), I think it would be nice if DVD profiler supported them.

It's possible to check both Blu-ray and DVD in the 3.6 beta.

One could also do Disc ID based profiles to account for differing details.

What do you mean? Use disc ID as the UPC? I'm not sure I understand what that would solve. The BD/DVD-versions will probably have a unique UPC, so I doubt it'll be necessary to use the disc ID.

Not necessary.  I was just suggesting that if there is a diffence in content on the two sides, it would be--in fact already is--possible to profile the two sides separately.  For example:  Blu-rays generally add some special features that the DVD doesn't have; different audio formats; etc.  Not saying it would have to be done that way, but that it can be done.
