import read only friends database

is it not possible that you can import a friends collection in dvd profile

and not only in the on line collection

If your friend also uses DVD Profiler:

Let him make a backup via the File menu
You create a new database via File->Open Database
You open the new database
You restore your friend's backup via the File menu
