| Posted: | | | | It seemed strange that I couldn't enter this title into my database, as the UPC value wasn't there. A few days later (tonight), I tried again. Still not there. Very strange.
So I went looking for the via the title selection. There is was. But, the UPC is wrong. It is given as 097360-724042. Mine is 841887-010986. Loaded it into my collection and looked at the images. They are exactly the same, except for the UPC and the ISBN.
I got my copy from Amazon.com.
Any idea where the contributors's copy came from? | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) |

| Posted: | | | | Mr. Video: This is amusing I have located data on your UPC, PLUS the one you mentioned and a third as well, 097368-944442. The 97360 and 97368 UPCs are Paramount Home Video, while the one you hold I believe is the PBS Distributed UPC. Based on the back cover image that I located for 97368 and having some familiarity with Paramount packaging...I would suspect that the title comes in a slip case and the Paramount UPC would be found along the bottom "spine" of the cover as there is no UPC on the back cover that i have seen. I can see that I will be doing some in-store research on this title to try and figure it out, particularly since one the vendors lists ALL three UPCs for this title...and I didn't look at the Blu-Ray side yet. Here is ONE possibility that comes to mind, PBS may have a release that they Distribute, probably only through themselves or a select few dealers, while Paramount might be responsible for broader distribution...I don't know...nor can I tell if there is any substantive differences...the cover art appears to be substantially similar. Not that strange; this is a user built database don't forget and if no other user has the version you bought (and there are lots of reasons why the 'same' release may be out under different UPCs - repackaging, different security devices and the original company having their rights bought off them or going bust are a few) or nobody with it has contributed the profile then it won't be in the database. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | I'd be inclined to download the upc code movie already in data base ,, Check all aspects of the dvd against the one downloaded,, includng Disc ID., running time /locality/& front-rear scans:- make all changes to your new one (localized.,) then go to 'file-collection-DVD' -dropbox and change the older upc code to the one currently on your rear jacket., Then submit.. You'll more than likely get no votes and it will be approved that day. there is nothing wrong with having a multiple list of a certain title in the data base as it happens all the time. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. But this was a brand new, first release. It's not as if it has been arounf the block a few times That is why I went looking for the title. I thought this was a PBS release, so when another UPC showed up, I was a little confused. Paramount distributing a PBS title and Amazon is shipping the PBS version. | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) |

If so, that leaves me out of the loop, as I do not have a Blui-ray drive in any of my computers. | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) |

There is nothing wrong in this circumstance with stripping out the disc ID info if you can't confirm it and submitting without it... the important thing is to submit GOOD data not necessarily 'every box with something in it' data. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong | | | Last edited: by Voltaire53 |
