| Posted: | | | | so with two differant releases for the Blu-ray the blu/dvd case and the dvd/blu case if your contributing the dvd/blu case do you contribute the differant cover art and would it be contributed as a dvd? |

| Posted: | | | | The way I understand Disney's marketing is the first release is BluRay with a Bonus DVD of the movie. The second release will be DVD with a Bonus BluRay.
So the first release should be profiled as a BluRay with the Bonus feature film rule for the DVD version of the movie (cover art should reflect this release).
The second release should be profiled as a DVD with the Bonus feature film rule for the BluRay version of the movie (cover art should relfect this release). | | | Are you local? This is a local shop the strangers you would bring would not understand us, our customs, our local ways. |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with Tracer (mostly), based on how Disney is marketing it. a Blu-ray w/bonus dvd in a dvd case. I would submit it as a blu-ray. The DVD version is being released 6 weeks later, The reason I said mostly is because I don't believe this will be including a blu-ray bonus disc (if it did it would be no different than the blu-ray release with a bonus dvd in a dvd case).
And there are actually 5 different (blu-ray) versions (released Oct. 6): - Blu-ray with bonus dvd in blu-ray packaging - Blu-ray with bonus dvd in dvd packaging - Limited edition collector set - Collector book set - Dwarf plush gift set
and then the 1 dvd version being released 6 weeks later.

| Posted: | | | | Agrare is correct the other release is a BluRay in DVD packaging. For the Bonus DVD I would use the image from the BluRay packaging as that is what I would assume most BluRay users will be purchasing. | | | Are you local? | Posted: | | | | see now I disagree, there is a blu/dvd in a blu ray case and a dvd/blu in a dvd case , two different things should be two different profiles.
I think the blu/dvd is a blu ray release and the dvd/blu is a dvd release and each has its own cover art and should be profiled as such.
And as far as Ive read this will be on ongoing thing for Disney, all of their Diamond Edition will be released this way. |

However what you are missing is that the Blu-ray is being released 6 weeks ahead of the DVD.

I don't think just because they swap around the Blu-ray + DVD to DVD + Blu-ray with the packaging switch makes it a DVD release. If it was a DVD then it would negate their deliberately delaying the DVD release by 6 weeks (I think having the DVD packaging for the blu-ray at all is stupid and actually negates it as well but thats a different issue)
-Agrare Well I think you actually just answered the question in bold, it has two differant upc, two differant profiles. And if you look at Disneys website it lists the Blu/dvd as being the Blu-ray as disc one and the dvd as disc 3 and on the Dvd/Blu combo the dvd is disc one, doesnt that indicate it should be profiled as a dvd and the blu ray's the bonus features, Ive never seen a profile where the feature was disc 2 only. And I really dont think its stupid Disney is giving people that only own a dvd player a choice AND a future upgrade but still keeping the dvd case that everyone is so used to, but giving blu-ray lovers what they want...I love the blu/dvd combos I can keep the blu and pass the dvd to my daughter. This is aslo the reason I purchased the Steelbook and DVd/blu combo I will enclose the blu in the Steelbook and move the dvd into a single dvd case and give it to my daughter. |

My point is they each would have their own profiles [bockquote] And if you look at Disneys website it lists the Blu/dvd as being the Blu-ray as disc one and the dvd as disc 3 and on the Dvd/Blu combo the dvd is disc one, doesnt that indicate it should be profiled as a dvd and the blu ray's the bonus features, Ive never seen a profile where the feature was disc 2 only. I understand that argument, but I don't agree with it due in part to my feelings that is just a marketing ploy to get people that don't realize it to buy a blu-ray and more importantly because of the 7 week release difference between the blu-ray and dvd releases Quote: And I really dont think its stupid Disney is giving people that only own a dvd player a choice AND a future upgrade but still keeping the dvd case that everyone is so used to, but giving blu-ray lovers what they want...I love the blu/dvd combos I can keep the blu and pass the dvd to my daughter. I understand the options, I have no problem with that. But a) blu-ray cases are smaller and nicer looking (I know that's an opinion but I'm still using it as part of my argument) b) I think it tricks the average shopper c) what the heck is the point of releasing the blu-ray 7 weeks earlier if you just gonna give the DVD crowd what they want at the same time. Ok, if they wait it'll be $6 cheaper but with the $10 off coupon Disney made available if you get the Blu-ray version it's actually more expensive. Quote: This is aslo the reason I purchased the Steelbook and DVd/blu combo I will enclose the blu in the Steelbook and move the dvd into a single dvd case and give it to my daughter. The steelbook will hold all three discs. I got this too but mainly because I thought the casw was nicer than the blu-ray one (and its technically free). I do think the slight alteration for the cover art on the DVD packaging version is better but I'd much prefer the smaller/slimmer/nicer blu-ray type case than a dvd type case. But the steelbook has no bearing on how these are profiled (as I'm sure you know). Though I must ask if you are putting it in the steelbook and keeping the dvd version seperate, the case type you order it in doesn't really make a difference (unless its so you can use the artwork for the single disc case) -Agrare |

-Agrare ..and that second release,, would be a release of the first release???.,, or it would not be a rerelease as it is supplied with a differnat UPC/EAN ..
