Original topic here

To be short, the request is to modify "Check for Child Profiles" function so that one UPC: can have several "sets" of child profiles and they all get downloaded by using "Check for Child Profiles" function. After that user can remove the incorrect ones.

Wouldn't it be better to be presented with a choice first?

If there are multiple sets of children, you can already add them all in the master and let users eliminate what they don't have.

Can you give me an example of such profile? Did you read the original discussion? It seems that at the moment "Check for Child Profiles" function reads the info from Boxset field (online db). You cannot have several variations of disc 1 there. Latest contribution always overwrites the previous boxset info.

We need a way to append a new disc to that field (online db) without overwriting the existing ones.

There is a way to do this, but it's so complicated, and I'm not sure if it is even supported by the rules, that I've never seen it used.

1. Download all existing child profiles
2. Create your child set and ad 'em to that master profile without removing just downloaded childs.
3. Contribute this set, that now have your appended childs and existing ones
4. Propably get a buch of "no" votes and "declined"

Download profile Alias: The Complete Second Season UK [5017188813235]. There are 2 different 6 disc child sets. Can you select which set to download or download 'em both? Does the program give you any kind of indication that this master profile has two different set of childs?
