I ordered "This is Spinal Tap: Limited Marshall Amp Edition" it was not in the database so i created a Blu-ray pre-release profile and contributed it but am now wondering if it should be a DVD, some sites have it listed as a Blu-ray some as a DVD/Blu-ray Package and at least one as a DVD with the Blu-ray as a Bonus disc
find-dvd.co.uk
So what do you think should i leave it as a Blu or change it to DVD

Will this be a release with both a Blu-ray and DVD? If that is the case, I would create a boxset with two child profiles in it: the DVD profile and the Blu-ray profile. The same has been done in the past for releases that include a Blu-ray/DVD combo, like Bolt for example.

Based on the data at the following link, ninehours, it looks like a BD-DVD Combo set.

This definitely does not look like the regular Blu-Ray releases that has the DVD as a bonus to encourage collector's who do not own a BD player yet to buy BD discs.

The description clearly states it will have 3 DVD's, 1 Blu-Ray and a Soundtrack CD, so I'd go with a boxset as well.

Notice that also a box set has to have one mediatype ticked...

And even tough HD-DVD and DVD can be ticked at the same time, Blu and DVD is not yet possible, hope that Ken fixes that as the combo Blu and DVD is also common.
We are all at the same age, only at different time...

Oleops:

I don't think Ken needs to address this issue. I did at first, some months ago, but once I realized that actually setting up a child profile for the DVD makes more sense since there are differences between DVD and BD (such as Video Format and Sound data) the data gets dealt with more appropriately.

I do. As oleops indicated, we are now FORCED to choose a media type for such a box set profile, while that seems to be a question of personal preference. That means it's yet another "first one in wins"-thing, and I thoroughly hate those. If this is set up as a box set profiles with separate child profiles for both the DVD and Blu-ray-versions included in the set, then ideally, I wouldn't want to have to pick a media type for the parent profile. And that's the issue I'd like to see addressed.

but we've discussed this in the past with Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio (and a few others too) unless this is done totally different you make a Blu-ray profile for the movie using the UPC and then a DVD profile using the disc id and add the DVD profile as a child (like a bonus movie) to the Blu-ray profile.

Download Sleeping Beauty (786936-746228) or Pinocchio (786936-785951) both US locality, for an example

Yes, that's what I meant but you explained it much better than I did. The DVD's are child profiles to the BD (parent) profile.

I agree, can't imagine why anyone would do it the opposite way. The ONLY thing which needs to be done is to codify it in the Rules.. It doesn't need to be addressed through the Program.

Agreed...assuming it is the exact same film on both the Blu-ray and DVD, I would set it up this way.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I think this really is a tricky one. It has a 3 DVD version, 1 Blu-Ray and 1 CD, so one could argue here.

On the other hand, I feel the highest quality disc should be listed in the parent profile.

What's tricky or challenging, it's a piece of cake.

Parent Profile BD
Child Profile +2 Bonus Discs (note i am not creating a profile for the bonusd Discs, just like we would NOT normally

As for the CD I would list it as an Other Feature

Real difficult, real challenging....NOT. I just apply the Rules and the way we handle other Tites which come with Bonus Discs.

Just wondering what the people who have received this think how it should be set up.
DVD for main profile and the Blu-ray as a Bonus Feature?

Really disappointed with the quality of this the disc are housed in a Envelope pack with slots that the disc's go into which has resulted in the disc's becoming scratched and the outer box has already started to come apart
