Need some advice on creating a profile, i have just purchased a DVD that has a Slip Cover with a separate EAN/UPC from the inner Keep Case

The EAN for the inner Keep Case is for the DVD "Billy Fury: His Wondrous Story" the EAN for the Slip Cover is for "Billy Fury: His Wondrous Story: 25th Anniversary Edition" what this appears to add over the standard DVD is a CD of songs and 8 Limited Edition Postcards, so how should i set this up?

1] Create two completely separate profiles, 1 for the standard DVD and 1 for the special edition

2] Create a sort of mini box set using the inner case EAN to create a full profile for the DVD and then use the slip cover EAN as a parent just containing the special features (CD/Postcards) and assign the DVD to this as a child profile

3] Create a profile using the slip cover EAN containing everything and just ignore the keep case EAN

4] Something else

Personally i like option 3 best but thought id see what everyone thinks, don't think option 2 would be allowed by the rules but thought I'd add it anyway

I'd say 1 only because it may be useful in the future for someone who may buy either one (UPC)...

I'd make the slipcase a box set containing the inner one.

I'd make it a box set but with all information in both profiles. (TV-Series style/Bonus movie style)

And I agree that number two isn't allowed by the rules

I've voted 3, but 1 is good too. And yes, number two isn't allowed by the rules.

I'd go for 3. And if you want to do the extra work, you could go for option 1.

I agree 3 would be fine... 1 if you feel up to it.

#3 is valid but were it me I'd do #1.  Clone it, change the scans and EAN and be done.  If the slip cover version goes away one day, no problem.

That is certainly viable, tweeter.

Ninehous, this is not uncommon at all, slip covers are generally a limited release, once the quantity of slip covers is exhausted, the distributor will announce a re-release with a lowered price. Sometimes they use a separate UPC # as they did in your case to separate the Slip Cover release from the re-release. Keep in mind that if you elect to do two profiles that you cannot provide an SRP(RRP) for the Keep Case UPC# as  you it has not yet been announced for re-release and said SRP(RRP) is unknown.

Option 1 and 3 are both valid. The box set option would be wrong.

This is exactly how I would do it. The different UPC on the keep case is an indication that this release is, or has been or will be available at some point without the slip cover (with different UPC).

Everyone would be happy

Agreed. For the keep case profile, I'd leave SRP and Release Date empty.
