| Posted: | | | | There are certain clarifications/adjustments to Rules for TV series. For production year it says "Use the year that the Series/Season was produced and first aired in its country of origin."
What concerns me here is the word "and". If the episodes were produced (according to end credits) eg. on 1999 BUT the first episode aired on 2000, which is the correct year for DVDP purposes? I assume it's 2000.
Why are there the words "produced and" in this specific rule adjustment? Isn't "was first aired" alone in complete harmony with the corresponding rule for movies? |

Back in the days when i was a whole lot younger, the US TV Season started typically in September and ran til about April or may and then started the summer reruns. So for example a series might actually be 1962-63. Now....lol, we seem to have three seasons per year. at least.

| Posted: | | | | What Ace said. And I agree that "produced and" should be removed from the rule's phrasing - it only serves to create confusion. A reference to the first episode should be included instead. The rule should read something like
"Use the year that the first episode of the Series/Season was first aired in its country of origin." |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with Ace too. Quoting dee1959jay: Quote:
"Use the year that the first episode of the Series/Season was first aired in its country of origin." Which brings me to the question, what if it airs in a foreign country then, years later, it actually gets an airing in its country of origin? | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | Hmmmm, perhaps it should be phrased the same way as is already the case for movies: "Enter the year of the original theatrical release." That could be turned into something like "Enter the year of the original air date of the first episode of the Series/Season." |
