| Posted: | | | | What credit would this be: Based on a screenplay by James R. Webb (from 1991 Cape Fear)? | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT. FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that. Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! |

| Posted: | | | | I would say that is an OMB credit, since it says "Based on".
Especially if there is another credit for writer or screenplay by or something. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

Actually the 1991 Cape Fear is a remake of 1962's Cape Fear starring Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peck. | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. As to the original question, it should be OMB as this film was based on the screenplay for the 1962 film. That screenplay was written by Webb.
