How will it work? Would Profiler spit out a list of names it think are possible links? Would you then choose from that list which ones to have linked.

Could you explain your idea more, making an example? I don't yet understand where the crosslinking would take place (offline? online?) and where the YesNoManual dialog would appear.


What I would like as a first step and in a version 3.6.0 would be that DVD Profiler client would parse its own local database, ignore all the three field parsing and check wether I have in my local database two actors called Helena/Bonham/Carter and Helena//Bonham Carter.

And maybe in a later step the same could be implemented on the online site where Ken could list all the basically identical names that only differ in parsing.

It arose because I'm at the moment on my way to correct the data in my collection (not as bad as I expected), and quite often have to realize that I forgot a crosslink in a movie I corrected 6 days ago.

The "Name Variants"-Plugin, though a great tool, wouldn't be of any help here, because quite too often it suggests crosslinks for totally different persons just because of a given name similarity, or doesn't see identical persons, because the names are too different.
What I want is simply an automated query for the name I just crosslinked. Probably a Plugin would do.
