The software is great for me at the moment, although I would suggest a higher resolution for the covers as we now mostly use 1680x1050 or higher, the resolution is becoming too small.

A little bigger whould be nicer as the pictures get better. With the compressions technics of today it should be possible without using much more bandwith.

Would do you think?

Although the poll for Monitor Resolution has 33 users at 1680x1050, the majority of users, 54 in total, use a lower resolution .

I wouldn't mind larger images but it's not just bandwidth that's at issue here, it's also storage capacity.

Locally, you can scan & store them at whatever resolution you want to. For the online database, I doubt that it will be increased drastically. I believe that this is likely to be for the same reasons that we don't include the spines. It would be possible to reproduce high quality cover prints which may cause a few legal battles for Invelos.

nmbs, you do realise that the database is run by the users right?

I run a resolution of 1680x1050 as well, and that is part of the reason why I continually work on updating the resolutions of my dvds to a higher resolution As i'm sure many users have seen me do.

There are also others who are working on this.

Firstly, have you purchased the software? and if so, have you switched on the option of having high resolution covers?

Secondly, if you have... why not help scan and update the covers? Although they do get compressed slightly... the high resolution covers are more than satisfactory for me when they update from invelos database after I submit them.

icefyre, the way I understood the request & by what he wrote, 8ball too, I think the request was to up the resolution of the images stored in the online database. They're currently set to a size of 500x700 I believe. What I think nmbs was asking for was to increase that, say to 750x1050.

Oh, i'm sorry then. I must have mis-understood

My humble apologies nmbs.

In that case, I would answer that when HQ scans are uploaded... they are good enough for me.

@icefyre: I already have the program

As Forget_the_Rest says: that's what I wanted to suggest.

But it's just a suggestion, my offline covers have a higher resolution too, but I'd like to have a little higher resolution in the online database, that was my suggestion.

Thanks for the replies anyway.
