| Posted: | | | | I received my copy of King Kong today, and whan I enterd in to add it to my base, I saw that the profile are including a slip-cover. My copy doesn't have any. I bought mine from hdmoviesource. Is ther many distributors on that movie, since some have slip and some don't? Have an similar experience her in Norway, when I bought The Dark Knight at Narvesen(similar to 7-11) and they didn't have slip cover either. After checking in another store, I found it with the slip. Anyone can explain why it is so? I would like to have the slip case, please | | | "What's God?" As purchased at Best Buy, it comes with a slip cover. Slip Covers are generally limited to support a higher a price for awhile. There have been instances where a slip and no slip have been released simutaneously, most noticeably Rob Zombie's Halloween last year, which carried a $10 premium for a piece of cardboard. Want to bet which one I bought.

My copy of The Dark Knight was actually cheaper with the slipcover, but it was bought from another chain though. | | | "What's God?" | Posted: | | | | The slipcovers only seem to last for the first week or 2, month tops, then nearly everything takes a price cut and loses the slipcovers. The Halloween one was beyond dumb, as the slipcover was Best Buy's big exclusive. I got the Circuit City bonus disc, almost as worthless as the slip cover but still slightly cooler, oh yeah, and about half the price as the slipcovered BB one. | | | Last edited: by bigdaddyhorse |

| Posted: | | | | I've bought several movies without slip cover and seen that the profile has a slip cover scan. They usually drop the slip cover after a while, so unless you buy a movie brand new or from the first couple batches. It might not have a slip cover. The profile should always have the original slip cover scans. So if your picky about it, scan your own and go with that |

Whoever gets there first, basically. The first submission is the one that is gone by at that point...like rerelease covers, the first cover gets used, not the rerelease. I understand, but to nitpick a little further If they are released simutaneously, the first one to add it got the non slip copy. Then it's released in the base, and another one add slip cover to the release bacause he/her mean it's the first release (which it usually is). Both can provide that they bought it on releasedate (through receits) will this be a ping-pong contribution, or will the nonslip be the accepted and first release? Just thinking loud here..... re-release covers i understand, since they have been released years after the first one | | | "What's God?" In the case I described, I did not contribute my copy and would not because I was aware of the slip case but that's me.

| Posted: | | | | Typically only the first few production runs have a slipcase... which most retailers carry the same version (barring store exclusive stuff) in addition some online retailers never get a slipcase version to start... lower shipping weight and less chance of damage. | | | -JoN |
