| Posted: | | | | Hey folks,
recently I noticed that my updates to profiles are approved and released within 2 days. Usually it was always at least 5 days, so that people have a lot of time to vote on it.
Does that happen to you too ?
And do you think it is good that they are approved THAT fast.
It is nice to have the database updated quickly , but I also think users should have enough time to vote and maybe see a mistake.
Curious to hear what you think.

| Posted: | | | | I think it depends on how busy they are at Invelos. Over Christmas/New Year it took longer to process them.
I hadn't really thought about whether or not it was good or bad to have them processed quickly but thinking about it now, I would've thought that having 5 days wouldn't be a bad idea. It's not too long to wait but does give more people the time to vote and could sway it one way or the other. |

| Posted: | | | | I contribute only new profiles, never updates, and contributed about 30 during the last three monthes. All were approved and released in one or two days.
I have not many ideas about the good time to take to vote. Generally, I have 0 or 1 profile in my pending updates list, so it wouldn't take long time to see what has changed if I wanted to, but I consider this as a loss of time since I'm happy with my locked profiles. | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | Yeh, new profiles are always accepted within 1-2 days, but with updates it always took longer, If I think about it, I would also say 5 days should be fine, 2 days is just too fast in my opinion | | | www.tvmaze.com |

| Posted: | | | | All the contributions I made, from Jan 5 to Jan 24, took seven days to process and release.
My contributions from Jan 26, 27 & 28 took two or three days.
I don't know whether or not it is a good or bad thing as I vote every day. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | It has always been the plan of 2-day voting here... though they were most always behind. See Ken mention it HERE... Quoting Ken: Quote: The next biggest change is the switch to daily database updates. At midnight, US Central time, the database updates will release automatically. Additionally, the 2-day waiting period no longer applies to new profiles, only changed profiles. During the first week of launch, we expect to generate intraday updates as well. I personally prefer a 2-day voting period. In my opinion that should be plenty time for people that want to vote to get here and do so... IMO. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I think five days in US is enough time because of the amount of users, in smaller countries I think it should be better of with a few more days to include some more users, not everybody is voting every day, and the danger of a bad profile slipping throu is greater. | | | We are all at the same age, only at different time... |

I mean it takes only a matter of minutes to vote on what you want to vote on. If it is up for 2 days... you shouldn't have a problem finding few minutes within that 2 day period to see if there is something up you want to vote on. And lets face it... how often do they (Invelos) actually make that time limit... 95% of the time they are behind by days. | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with 5 days. Maybe even one week. In my opinion, the longer it takes, the better. More people checking the contribution, more opportunities to discuss issues, more time for the Screeners to make the right decision in full relax, no need to hurry! | | | -- Enry |

Exactly. In "small" localities there are usually very few voters, so it's important that all owners get a chance to vote, even the "lazy" users checking contributions just once a week! | | | -- Enry |

| Posted: | | | | I'm very happy that we're back on the regular 2-day schedule. Five to seven days was much too long, IMHO. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm much prefering the two day waiting period over the 5-7 it was taking as little as a two weeks ago.
And I personally think it's plenty of time.
My contribution to change Robert Downey Sr. to Robert Downey, Sr. in Magnolia still received 34 votes within the two day period it was contributed and then accepted. Even for a smaller, DVD only release film, such as Cruel Intentions 3, my contribution got 7 votes (that one took about three days, but all 7 votes were cast by the end of the second day).
Five to seven days is too long, and honestly, kind of frustrating. One contribution I had that took that long (to add the entire cast and crew for Six Feet Under: The Complete 4th Season) had 15 votes during that period. If I'm remembering correctly, 13 of those votes came within the first 24-36 hours that I submitted the contribution. Only two more votes came through within the last three days before the contribution was approved.
And on the flip side, when I totally botched a contribution not realizing it was a boxset (the two individual profiles were already in my collection, so I wasn't asked to download them as well, and I skipped right over the boxset part during my audit of the title) it was still properly declined in the two days it took to process.
I so far haven't seen anything that would make me think more time than two days is needed to properly evaluate a contribution. | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |
