| Posted: | | | | Every now and then I come across a profile in my database where there are no Contributors, and no Contribution notes available. They are in the database, but it is not possible to see who put them there in the first place, so I was wondering; do contributors get "deleted" after a while, or is this a bug only I have experienced? Hope you understand what I mean, and any input is greatly appreciated. | | | Berak

At the beginning of the "Invelos" era, there was also a bug which caused contributors to be "deleted" under certain circumstances, but even then, the notes would remain. So if there are no notes either, then it can indeed only be an automatically-ported-over-from-Intervocative profile. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm wondering if Ken has the ability to tell if there are any of these profiles that are in nobody's collection. It would be great if he did and could cull them from the online database. |

I seem to remember Ken saying a while ago that Invelos doesn't know which titles are in people's collections so it wouldn't (currently) be possible. |

| Posted: | | | | They are from the change over from Intervocative. Anybody who was with Intervocative might have a few of them. Why would you want to get rid od them, it does not necessarily make them bad. I have a lot of them, so what If you see an error, fix it, as you should with any profile. Contribution notes, after a profile is in the DB, what is rhe difference, it is either right, wrong or incomplete. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. I have seen several of these in my collection alone. It just means no one has worked on the profiles since Intervocative. Not that they aren't in people's collections. I know with well over 3,000 profiles in my collection there is many that I haven't looked at to work on in a very long time. | | | Pete |

Do a title sort by last edited, it is interesting to see which dvds haven't been updated for some time | | | |

| Posted: | | | | I just did a sort on last edit and have over a 100 profiles that have not been touched since the change over and a random check a lot of them do not contributor names or notes.
With all the changes to the profiler rhere is a good bet they could be freshened.
Four have not been touched since 12/1999 and one had an update, I checked it and the update was good so I added it.
Since the holiday sales I added some new 500 profiles to my owned/ordered list, so I haven't had time to do a lot of profile updating. And during updates to the profiler when you could not make contributions, I ywt have to get caught up. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. | Posted: | | | | Thanks to all for the replies. Shretims; I don't want to get rid of them, I was just curious if contributors got deleted after a while.. Deejay; I suspect you are right in your assumption regarding bad data, as all the profiles I've encountered so far has been nearly blue copies from IMDb (and I have of course corrected and contributed the correct info). All the rest; Thanks a bunch for the info as always! | | | Berak
