Hello guys,

When contributing a title, does it matter what language we type in the 'submission' box? I am asking this because I was contributing a "Canadian(Quebec)" title, which are normally in French... and the submission I sent written in french (in the explanation box) got rejected with the following reason: "Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions."

Yet I did explain, in French, where I got the information... so, do it matter if we contribute in French or English?

Eric
p.s.In the mean time, I will send again, but in English ;-)

In all realism, it shouldn't matter, but in actuality, the screeners are probably fluent in English (I don't know who the screeners are).  I have always heard that it is best to submit in English.

I agree. Submissions should indeed always be in English, as Gerri Cole has publicly stated on the forum in the past. She and Ken are the only screeners on here...unless it's since changed.

Per Ken and Gerri Cole all notes need to be in English for the screener(s). You can add a copy in your local language is you like but you don't need to.

As the others have said, even if the entire profile is in a different language the contribution notes needs to be in english.
You are allowed to have both languages in your notes though: in your example, French for those DVD owners who don't speak english, and an english translation for the screeners.

English is the language of Profiler, that is what ken and Gerri speak and they have repeatedly requested that the same. No one will fault you if your grammar, spelling and word usage are not perfect, as long as it can be figured out.

This will most of the time yield a perfectly acceptable translation.
