| Posted: | | | | Title is a bit vague but wanted to ask and find out the following: Was able to discover and enjoy Walt Disney's 50th Anniversary of Sleeping Beauty yesterday. Had it bought and in shrink since October.. But hey it was a xmas gift for my 5 year old.. anyway I discover on the second viewing that in setup there is a running commentary with Leonard Maltin / John Lassiter and a third man as well.. BUT wanted to see how can I use the names Leonard Maltin and John Lassiter to my profiler so I can if need be in the future find those names attached to this movie? I'm sure there's must be a plethora of other tiles that have this obscure feature as most commentaries are done by the director or cinematographer or cast member etc that can then fill this spot. It can't really be done on tags but was wondering about Crew?? they are speaking during the entire 75 minutes and their insight gives plenty to the development of this film that the crew members due to age or death cannot give today 50 years later .. I'd like to see if thru our panel and members here if this can be discussed and figured out if Crew with a divider can be used????? Thanks .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | I don't use the feature but, couldn't you use the custom crew function for this? | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | It's an interesting question and one I haven't given much thought to. It's also quite practical as there are some folks who give excellent commentaries (Kevin Smith) and other who really...well...suck at it. |

Yes it is an option,, but the ONLY option. which is why I posted to ask this.. Here is what my screen now looks like . (I know that 8Ball says this is not the way to go, but hey My gain (keeping this Local) and your loss.) | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. It's not the only option. And it's not my loss either . If I wanted to track who provides Commentary on a disc I could just as easily do it in the Notes section rather than filling my crew list with non-crew members. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

They restore a film and they are actual film crew with crew roles unlike Film Critics in a DVD commentary. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | They are not part of Feature, we do not at this time use them at all. Perhaps one day Ken will give better ability to delineate what are in the Bonus Features such Commentaries, instead of the Generic system we use now. But,ofg course if you wnat to do this LOCALLY that is your choice.
We never have done this, though w have requested better delineation of the Bonus Features,, this is not even a question for Contribution , Terr, until gives us the descriptions. It is yur LOCAL ONLY decision.

| Posted: | | | | No I mean, the restoration team restore a movie for DVD purposes only,, rather than any type of theatrical run in a theatre. ( you'd never get commentary audio at a theatre house) .., This team may involve the commentary features.. ( such as new audio for Oct 2008 release ) In other words I'd rather see the commentary team as crew rather than cast.. If I wanted to see everything that John Lassiter (and others) has done in my library profile- I'd rather have his name come up in crew rather than a sideline Notes appearance ... (just read Skip's notes above) .. Sure we can all do just Local only., but that is only for us serious afficiados here . There are a lot of People who use Invelos who couldn't care less to have a 'thorough up to date top notch list' if they can't just 'download the stuff in one button, rather than to do a lot of 'side bar' editing for JUST keeping it locale. I'm just trying to get the Best product going for us,, young and old. I believe I do have a serious post going here,, so don't just shush me off as a nut.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | As Skip stated, these are bonus features which do not belong, IMO, in the Cast or Crew sections of a profile. Cast & Crew are film specific whilst the Commentary is strictly a bonus feature. I have absolutely no problem in discussing ways of getting this information in a viable format into Profiler but I don't think that including it in Cast & Crew is the way to go. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | A Serious post or not. Nut or not, Terry. None of that of that relative. Though you are a nut, so are we all, the only question is degree of nuttiness.
This is something that we do NOT do at this time with Bonus Feature data. Even in the future, I don't see it being dealt with in any form such as you suggest, I can see better delineation such as Commentary by John Lasseter and LeonardMaltin but that's it. They are not part of the movie in ANY form and never will be.

| Posted: | | | | Don't worry,, It will be locale,, but the day will arrive when a friend comes over to visit you (Skip) and sit for a marathon of movies and he says.. "Do you have any John Lasseter films? I want to see every thing he's done that you own." . and guess what? even with your 'hopped' up Invleos DVD Profiler you won't be able to oblige that wish of his to the nines... .. But I will .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
