Hello all. Not sure if many of you watch Mixed Martial Arts shows (such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship), but I have quite the collection. I was wondering what would be the best way to list the cast. I used DVD Profiler before when the other company was making it, then I got away from it, now I'm back again. When I would submit contributions before I just listed the fighters from the show & left the role blank since they were not acting. I would only include the actual fighters, not announcers or anything like that.

Also I was wondering the best ways to list someone (a fighter in this case) when they are better known by a nickname. Example: Tank Abbott. His real name is David Abbott, but is best known as Tank Abbott. Maybe list him as David Abbott & credited as Tank Abbott?

Thoughts are welcome.

Welcome back to the asylum

I would say you put in the real name , then credited as his stage name, f.e.

David Abbott credited as Tank Abbott.

just my 2 cents

For actors and crewmembers we are not as concerned with their real names as we are with their "most commonly used" names.  Why would it be any different for a fighter?  If he is nearly always credited as "Tank Abbott" why wouldn't you use Tank Abbot and not worry about his real name?

- OR -

The way we normally deal with nicknames is to put them into the Middle Name field:

David / "Tank" / Abbott.

- OR -

do as DarklyNoon suggests
