Is there a standard form for DTS that doesnt need any additional info like 5.1, stereo and such.
I've run into a DVD that has 2 audio tracks. One is Dolby Digital 5.1, and the other just simply says "DTS".

So when adding that to a profile, I couldnt just simply say DTS. What type do you think it is?
5.1 along with the Dolby Digital one?

I presume your're referring to what it says on the DVD cover.

Simplest ways to verify what it really is:
- either play the disc in your living room setup and watch the indication on your AV receiver, provided you let the receiver handle the decoding of the DTS track
- or play the disc in your PC. Usually your DVD player program (e.g. PowerDVD) can tell you how many channels the DTS track has.

DTS 5.1 is the most likely outcome.

Indeed, but it may also be 6.1 or 7.1.

6.1 is possible on a DVD (using DTS-ES), but 7.1 is the reserve of high-definition disc formats (using DTS-HD)
You can download higher resolution versions of any of my cover scans from here
