this may have been asked before, but here it goes

In the credits, you go by the main movie credits, then always near the end they will have something like;

Visual effect by {company}
visual effect superviser {name}
  etc

Special effect by {company}
  individual credit
  individual credit

etc

Do we credit the appropriate rolls within the individual companies in the credit list?

I did a poll in the Contribution Rules Committee forum asking the following question.

To allow certain employees of Visual Effects Companies to be credited

Results so far:

Yes, but ONLY for those that are currently allowed by the rules (6)
No, nobody who is credited under a Visual Effects header should be allowed (2)
No, I would like to eliminate the Visual Effects category all together (3)
Don't Care (2)
Other (1)

Seems that those that took part in the poll do want those credited under a visual effects company to be included as long as they are currently allowed by the rules.

So for your first example, I would say yes since the role is clearly listed in the current rules.

But the second example is more questionable.
If all it is is a list of names under a company header I would say no because it's unclear exactly what they did on the film. They could be anything from supervisors, animators, technicians and the like. Since they aren't credited with a specified role I would leave them out.

However I have seen a few credits that reads something like "Visual Effects by Don Smith & Larry Chair of Smith Chair Effects". For that kind of credit I would include them since the credit reads "Visual Effects by".

I've been including the names under headers only if they have a title like "producer", "director" or "supervisor". Now if it's a header and a list of names without job titles, then they all get left out.
It's a nice blend between the rules and common sense.

As bigdaddy indicates, people have been entering them when they match a profiler credit.  I see no problem with it.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
