I got the Saw Trilogy today (Blockbuster had it out early) and I'm not sure how to handle the profiles. It's a box set and contains the same discs as the Saw: Uncut Edition, Saw II: Special Edition and the upcoming Saw III: Director's Cut, but they're all in one keep case and each Saw movie has two-discs. So how do I enter this? Do I just use the profiles for those individual movies?

Nevermind, I kind of answered my own question. I just added the titles as stated on the cover, thing is I do own the uncut edition (the blood/razor blade cover), so now I need to know which profile I can add so I can keep the bloody one separate.

Well you've only got the one UPC, right? Add each movie under the disc ID of the first disc, and then just go with the normal box set rules. Quickest way would be to add the standalone profiles to your UPC acting as the parent, change the EAN to the disc ID and then customise as appropriate. You definitely don't want separate profiles for the bonus discs.

Boxset child profiles are generally done using DiscIDs.  Do the DiscID's on the 3 discs that have the films match currently existing DiscIDs?  If they don't then you can technically download the UPC profiles for the individual DVDs and then change them to use DiscID instead of UPC.  Just be extremely sure that they are the correct editions you think they are and verify all the data yourself before submitting.  If unsure, then it may be safer to create new profiles using the DiscIDs and enter all the data from scratch.

If the DiscIDs do exist already and they are for different versions of the movie than what you have.. well, that's a problem.  And I don't think there's any current solution as only Ken can allow duplicate entries in the database, which I think he's done once before for a very special case (can't recall exactly what it was).

Each disc is exactly the same as what has been released before (including disc art). I don't handle DiscIDs all that often and didn't know how to with each movie getting 2 discs.

Also, I only tried the first disc (Saw I) and that disc ID was not recognized.

Well, tried each of the discs and while I had to type a title for 1 and 3, #2 was already filled in (though no data was in this profile). So, in the edition, I put the proper edition titles but should I also add "Saw Trilogy"?

In the end, however, I may keep this local and allow someone more experienced with this submit it...

I'm assuming the 2nd discs for each movie is a bonus disc.  These are not individually profiled and would just be added to each main film's child profile (by DiscID) as a second disc labled "Bonus Materials".  The same as you would do for any other 2-disc special edition type of thing.

If they're identical to what's been released before, then they should have UPCs and you should use those.
