| Posted: September 19, 2007 7:05 PM | | | | I had to reinstall windows but luckily I had previously backed up my DVDP collection of 150 DVD's.
However I've just reinstalled DVDP and tried to restore the backup and my backup.dpb file shows as zero bytes in size with the error unable to locate file, so I checked another file called backup.dpb.bak and this is over 5mb in size.
I tried to rename the bak file to just backup.dpb but that doesn't work either, i get a data error message! Now I'm really stuck.
I have an xml export taken before the reinstall of windows, can I use that to rebuild the DB in some way, even if only in part? |

Worst comes to worst, you can do what I did when all I had was an XML when upgrading from version 2 to version 3 - open up the XML and copy-n-paste the UPC data into DVDP. |

I'm guessing the backup.dpb.bak was an earlier backup that was replaced by the newer backup.dpb and that i should have been able to recover that file by renaming it without .bak, is that right? |

Download version 3.1.0 (Build 1151) from forum menu download. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted.
