The Rules request us to enter the year of the original theatrical release, when contributing a profile for a movie. Where do you usually look for that information, especially when it comes to old movies?

There is no single source that can be relied upon. Short of the Copyright.

I am really glad we profile the Theatrical Release Year as Production Year, and not the copyright year of the end credits...

  Achim:

I remember that discussion only too well. I recall I had one major concern but I won't reveal it here. But generally i supported the production with one possible IF.

Well, I think without the  my irony really fell flat there...

I forgot who was on what side during the discussion and it really doesn't matter now. We have what we have and the forum to change that would be the Contribution Rules forum.

I read that discussion and both sides seemed to have their good reasons, I don't know what side I would have voted, honest. But, as you say, it really doesn't matter now, we have what we have.
