This is just a general question of what others do with a multi-movie box set where the individual movies are available separately. What I've done in the past is I put in what I paid for the set itself and leave what I paid for the child profiles blank (or $0.00), but it got me thinking that maybe it'd be more accurate to leave the box set price blank and split each movie by what I paid.

What do you guys do?

I usually put the price I paid in the boxset profile, and zero for the contents. Never really put much thought into it to be honest.

However, if I buy a bunch in a "3 for £20" offer or something similar, I'll split that among the profiles.

Locally, I do it the same way as you.

The main database should have the SRP in ALL profiles if the children have their own UPCs and were previously released individually.

Same as the others.  I put the full price in the boxset parent and leave the child profiles set to 0.

Only ones I split the price are the "double" packs where you pay once price for 2 individually UPCed movies each with thier own keepcase and they just shrinkwrap them together.  I've noticed recently Target and Best Buy have a ton of these now.

I also do not split the cost for special deals like a Columbia House situation where you buy one movie for $25 and all the rest are $5 each.  I know some people take the total price paid for all the DVDs and then divide it evenly between them all.  I'll put $25 for the one they charged me full price and $5 for the rest just as I paid for them.
