Quote: How can you claim that not one single user cares? Have you spoken to all of us, or even bothered reading this whole thread? He is talking about the users who participate in the common name threads, like this one, not all users. I am guessing he made that assumption because the issue of credit variations...at least not that I have seen...never comes up. Yes, Sir, my point is that the common name threads usually verify a credited as with only one profile. What is absolutely insufficient and arbitrary, if you assume that a credit may differ from release to release. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. T!M is not infallible, no one is. You are correct, he is not infallible. The problem, at least the problem I have, is when he propogates that error. Making an error when contributing to the one profile you own is one thing. Spreading that error to 10 or 15 profiles you don't, is another. Just my opinion. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. | Posted: | | | | Absolutely and completelly agreed, Unicus. Further to popagate an error in the face of known evidence that variations DO indeed exist between Region, Localitie and Versions (even though we may not today KNOW exactly which ones might contain the errors) demonstrates a level of arrogance towards and disrespect towards the rest of Community that is nigh unbelievable, particularly when said user is establishing his OWN collection as a de facto standard for ALL to follow. The ONLY standard is the credits for each individual release and those credits are unique to THAT version, Region or locality, that is the ONLY standard, not some user in one of the tiniest countries of the planet.
I will add that I find the users edit to this thread title to be also offensive and disrespectful to the Community. It kind of reminds me of a child throwing a tantrum because he didn't get his way. The topic was fair enough, he amde some comments which are nothing more than estreme assumptions which cannot be supported and tried defend hsi indefensible behavior towards others in the Community by changing titles he does not own. He further tried to had behind Daddy by saying Ken says it's Ok. And as I have pointed out that just because Ken said it is OK does not equate with we should make those changes. We are, after all, answerable to each other for the quality of database relative to the rules and to the errors which we introduce into the system which may not be uncovered for YEARS.

A, at least relatively speaking, very active country though (Besides, my wife says size doesn't matter. ) Given the size and population, the Clockwork Orange is not too bad in World Cup tournaments, either. 2nd in 1974 & 1978, 4th in 1998... | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

It doesn't matter whether T!M contributes only faultless/faulty profiles he owns, or not: in both cases the error rate will be the same. Unless you find that of all people T!M's error rate of profiles he owns is too high. Yes, the error rate will be the same, but the number of errors will be greater. While that may not matter to you, it does to me. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I keep seeing a tired old saw that the perfect is the enemy of the good (enough). So what happens if you have a perfect profile that gets corrupted by the good enough...now who is the enemy.

Unless you find that of all people T!M's error rate of profiles he owns is too high. Yes, the error rate will be the same, but the number of errors will be greater. While that may not matter to you, it does to me. This notion really astounds me. You suggest to reduce the absolute number of errors, by reducing the absolute number of contributions from our most hardworking, most experienced and most reliable users. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. He is hardworking, he is somewhat experienced though not as much as he thinks and as for reliability...not even a chance.
You are entitled tio your opinion. I find him to be willful arrogant and continues to try and set himself as some sort of de facto standard beyond the Rules.

How do you know he is one of our most hardworking users? Because he tells you he is? Please tell me it isn't because of that artificially inflated contribution number. Most reliable? Again, how do you know? Have you checked all his work or are you making an assumption? Not that it really matters as you are entitled to your opinion...as am I and I refuse, absolutely REFUSE to trust anybody that refuses to show their work. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
