You will need to accept that even if Invelos decided to give you what you wanted immediately, it woud take significant time to develop and release it with commercial quality. That is one of the reasons Invelos gave us plugins. Faster turnaround, easier way to test new concepts, but still able to create integrated results. You might try CCViewer as a way to create a prototype of what you need, as an example in case Invelos adopts your suggestion. Best of both worlds.

For what it is worth, I think you are bluffing. The program that you talk about doesn't exist, and you don't really know what you want.

Prove me wrong.

Not true. it's in bad form to pimp a competitor product here I did my own research and found it. So if you want to be blind to the fact that some other company can do more if not better then by all means be that way.it's your choice . Keep im mind it's in line as to what I need and I feel it's better and that's just my  choice.

Well, first off, kinky people have asked you a very direct question and you keep dancing around providing an answer. Secondly, you are failing to recognize that two very long term users of the program have told you that no one in their memory has ever requested this. No software designer is likely to develop something on the basis of a single request from a single user, if you believe that they should, that's just crazy. And further not only are you the first, you are the only user, I have seen no one step up and say hey great idea, not even one. Your options are limited here, people keep trying to help you and explain what you need to do, but you seem to want it done for you and believe that the developer should bend to your wishes, those of a single user. Step into the real world, friend, its not going to happen anytime soon if ever.
ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

All true I've accepted that. I'm willing to drop the subject because it won't be any time Soon that dvdp will do any more than what it is already doing minus the community helping it do stuff the company is not programing into the program themselves

The problem I see with your request is that some of the data you want to track is very subjective. There can be problems with subjective data such as ping ponging of data.

For example: Collectable Value: How can you accurately track this data? Who decides? If is sold at auction - do you include shipping? - handling fees? - ebay/paypal fees? etc.

Unopened/sealed: Every DVD bought new is sealed and every watched DVD has been opened. I'm not sure how important this information is.

Limited production run: Profiler already tracks this in the Edition field.

Rare: What parameters should be used? What makes something rare?

OOP: Personally I use Tags for this. I should mention that I only learned how to use this a few months ago. I wish I had learned this earlier because I've found it to be a very useful tool.

A lot of the other things you mention, Give Away for example, can be tracked quite easily using the Custom Collection Categories.

Or if you prefer to track this information online, you have the ability to open and use a second (or however number you need) database.

If you have found something you prefer that's great. But, it seems to me that profiler can, for the most part, accommodate the things you want.

No, it is not, as it is done all the time and Invelos leaves them be.

Unfortunately, your credibility takes a huge hit with this evasive response.  It was not my intent to start a flame war, I was just curious as to which product out there does what you claim it does.  It is, of course, your choice to remailn silent but, as you have already seen, people will just assume you are blowing smoke.

Edit to add:  If you are really that concerned about pimping a competitor's product, you could always send me a PM as I really am curious.

Kingzombie, there are many types of collectors, on this site you will mainly find movie-enthusiasts, that collect media for the joy of having them, the program developed (and in fact still is developing) according to the needs of this group.

What you are looking for (and according to your statements have already found) is a tool for those that collect as an investment-strategy. As already said, this type of collectors is not the classical target group for this program, so it's very unlikely that DVDProfiler will ever evolve in the direction you requested.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Thank you I fully understand that in time it  happen or it might not...but anyone who bought a pro version of any program like this and later found another progrgram  that dose what this dose and more would ask these questions  and get a yes / no / or not at this time. But not get told the program relies on user to do more not the company that makes it

Thanks for this wonderful explanation.
Now I finally understand why several automobile companies found it necessary to mount automatic braking systems into their cars.

It's as easy as already pointed out by several other participants of this thread: Most of the functionality you are looking for is easily available in this program. If you decide that this doesn't suffice that's completely OK. You found a program that serves your needs better? Fine!
But please don't blame DVDProfiler, its users or the programmer for this decision.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Personally I'm more shocked that no vocal system is present in DVDP. I've found another DVD database software where I don't have to type anything to create my profile, I just have to talk to it.
