For those interested in this one, Wal Mart has it in a 2-pack along with Swimfan for $8.98 (or something like that).

Yep, the Limited Edition, lol. In fact, they had several copies (and it seems at every Wal Mart). I guess OOP should only mean the studio/factory is no longer pressing new copies or something. Maybe a warehouse full of them was discovered.

That was my impression too, what Out of Print means...

IIRC, Disney would be the only Studio which actually recalls the limited releases at a certain date and they are no longer available after the preset date.

No wonder it is rare. I couldn't even find the 1985 movie on IMDb. My German release of the 1980 version was quite cheap.

Coming again to R1 on August 7th too.

I sold mine off about a year ago for around $50, after buying the UK disc.

Wow, compared to you guys the stuff I own isn't too rare (aside from the Region 1 Criterion stuff I bought in stores in the UK and Australia). I'd love to get my hands on the Criterion editions of Robocop, Spinal Tap and the Killer.

My mate Ben has just bought this, which is pretty far out: Oldboy (Korean Limited Edition)

Thanks for that site link, going to go through later and check on stuff I'm unsure of print status of.
A few ones I know are quite rare:

Psychos In Love ( I5AD380E42903F340 (DVD) ), only 300 made.
Maniac Tin ( 013131-185096 ), only 5,000
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie tin ( 013131-131192 ) 5,000
Halloween Extended Version with Best Buy exclusive film cell ( 013131-165494 )
Thursday ( 696306-012825 ), had a couple extra copies of this but sold them on ebay a few years ago, for about $150 each!
Hard Boiled Criterion
Sid and Nancy Criterion
Big Trouble In Little China 2 disc SE

I know there's plenty more, if anyone wants to look at my list feel free.
I also have sold a bunch back when Borders and  another store kept getting OOP titles in. Flash Gordon, They Live, Prince Of Darkness, Terminator (when there were only the Image discs), DR. Giggles, etc...
Kind of regret selling my Criterion Robocop, but didn't feel I needed it when I got the R2 disc.
I also had the Two-Lane Blacktop tin, put it on dvdempire for the then insane price of $70 (I got in on close-out for $15) and got an email one day saying it sold. Of course I checked ebay and amazon and saw I undersold myself, but it's fine. I checked the movie out from the library and didn't care for it.
Similar thing happened with Meet Joe Black UE. Found one and put it up for crazy price, it sold. That one worked out great though, a few months ago I bought a new, legit copy on ebay for $15.   Looks like a warehouse full of em was found, or everyone just quit caring.
That is a drastic price drop in the secondary market, unrivaled by anything that hasn't been re-issued in a better version, or re-issued at all for that matter.

Never could find Criterion's The Killer or Spinal Tap for a reasonable price, so I bought the laserdiscs. For the price of Killer alone, I got a nice Elite LD player and both of these sets.

Lucky! I missed out on getting one of those. I think the director was only selling them on ebay, but it took him forever to actually get 'em in stock then.
