"The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable."
Nah, serious. In previous versions I automatically grabbed the birth years. But at some point the IMDb server shuts down with the above mentioned 503. I assume I query too many pages in too short a time. I tried to insert artificial delays but it didn't help. Funny how this was already an issue in 2009 with a different error code. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | In Settings > Parsing > People > Links there's an option to check for redirects.
Try to disable that, it sends a lot of requests to IMDb that most of the time aren't necessary.
The original idea of the feature was that sometimes more unknown actors get more than one IMDb page and when someone figures out that they're the same person, they get merged and one page points to the other. And CCE2 was trying to find these to let you know that two people might be the same. But try it without that feature. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Yup, works fine, even together with CastCrewCheck.
For anyone wanting to use CastCrewEdit in conjunction with CastCrewCheck, note that it needs the 32 bit version of CastCrewEdit. (And run CastCrewEdit alone once, since it pops up the help file first time, and CastCrewCheck doesn't like that.) | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Oh man, I have a bad feeling Maybe I messed something up in the past but I'm usually careful not to. The first movie I've parsed with the new version had a changed name that didn't match with my database: Crew-Mitglied "David Smith" (nm6242759): Alt: David Smith Neu: David W. Smith that guy is in my DB as David E. Smith (fake BY 7897) Edit: David E. and David W. aren't the same guys. Sorry about that. But still a inconsistency in my DB. He is in it as Dave Smith credited always as David Smith (7862) So I was missing a past name change from Dave to David I guess. It's confusing as F! E. and W. also sometimes are in the same movies together doing the same thing, Jason goes to hell for example: David E. Smith ... effects crew: K.N.B. Effects Group David W. Smith ... effects crew: K.N.B. Effects Group (as David Smith) So probably I was confused in the past already and messed my own DB up. | | | Last edited: by Corma |

| Posted: | | | | The key I use in the cast.xml and crew.xml is always the full IMDb Id, for example nm6242759.
In the Data folder there's also a Log.html which contains all the changes to names, maybe you can track down your David Smith change there. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
