It all depends on the device "drive naming"... I currently have two 7" Android based tables and neither names the external "SD" the same: The Android 3.0 Dell is named: Memory, SD, EXTSD The Android 4.0 is named: System, SD1, SD2 <Which is really the external SD>
Since there is no file manager there is no way to tell the app that the data base is on the removable SD card. :David
same with my device. names are for internal: /mnt/sdcard for removable: /mnt/sdcard2 you have to connect to the phone in such a way that you get the drive letters. This is normally by conencting to the phone having switched to USB mass storage mode (under settings) | | | Paul |

| Posted: November 29, 2012 1:07 PM | | | | I guess it is no problem saving the files to the specific path /mnt/sdcard/ but I don't want to store these hugh amount of data on my internal ROM. For this purpose I have a 32GB removable SD and would rather prefer to have the database stored at that path mnt/sdcard2/
Each Android system has a different name for internal, external or removable storage. You can even use USB-sticks at some tabletts. So the programm must have an option to point to the individual place where you stored your database.

| Posted: November 29, 2012 1:42 PM | | | | I just wanted to say THANK YOU. This app worked flawlessly on my Samsung Epic 4G. It did have initial issues finding my device but opening a command prompt and changing directory to C:\Program Files (x86)\DVD Profiler\Plugins\Droid_DVDP_Exporter then typing adb devices instantly showed my device. after that the plugin had NO problem finding it. After that is found the path and exported without error. All titles are showing in my phone. Thank you again.. was hoping that there would be an official Android version by now since Android outsells iPhone 4-1 (or better) |

I use tags to tell me what binder the movie is in but tags don’t come over. Is there another place I can enter the location that comes over to this app. It is just simple info like B 34. |

No way I know to tag in the program (yet) Oliver may have it in the works. I'm personally looking for additional categories. Wishlist, Avoid, etc. Time will tell! |

| Posted: December 2, 2012 10:27 PM | | | | Just tried the app on my S III with JB.
- First I installed the plug-in - Then the app on the phone - If I let the plug in search for a device, the software does not react any more - OK, then I exported it manually and copied all files to the corresponding folder on my phone. - When starting the app on my phone the screen keeps black beside of the top bar. - looking into the settings and selecting "view collection status" does crash the app.
That does not feel to successful. Any hints for me how to get it running ? |

Run the app once it will create folders and the file droid_dvdp_is_here. Copy the folder structure from your phones sdcard to your local PC everything in the droid_dvdp folder. Now run the plug in to a local drive on your computer point it to droid_dvdp folder you copied from your phone. It will create files in droid_dvdp folders. Copy everything in those folders to your phones folder. Sdcard\droid_dvdp\ Run the app on your phone and enjoy it. I did these exact steps on my S III and it works great. (the S III does not mount the phones storage with a drive letter so the is an easy way to make it work)
I just used these same instructions and installed it on my Samsung Galaxy Wi-Fi Tab. | | | Last edited: December 3, 2012 11:48 PM by pinballLooking |

| Posted: December 7, 2012 4:57 PM | | | | Hi all, I have a issue with DVD Profiler plugins under linux. So I installed DVD Profiler with Wine. I used Winestricks to install .Net 2.0 and Tahoma font. DVV Profiler works perfectly. I have had no problem to install the plug-in "CSV Export" and works as well.
But if the installation of droid_dvdp was ok, It doesn't exist in "External modules" (I don't see it ...).
What I need to do to get it in DVD Profiler?
I got same issue with LoadDVD plug in ... I also saw in the plugin folder that LoadDVD and droid_dvdp create subfolders for their dll files and not for "CSV Export".
Thanks by advances for your answers | | | Last edited: December 7, 2012 4:59 PM by JPP1 |

Without a phone the screens in the pluginin are kinda worthless. Also, keep in mind this software is a beta product (only one of the most stable beta's I've ever seen!) As for specks: any current Android smartphone should run this app. Keep one thing in mind: Dave |

| Posted: December 20, 2012 2:39 PM | | | | Just wanted to chime in and say thanks for this app. I have it running on both a kindle fire HD and a generic Chinese ICS 7 inch tablet. I was not able to get the sync functions of the exporter plugin to work for me, But i did use the exporter plugin to make a manual copy. On both the fire and the ICS tablet i then was able to use "ES file explorer" (a free app) to connect over wifi and copy the manually exported data base and thumbnail images to my tablets. when i update with a new movie it is pretty easy to export the changed database and copy it over. one minor thing, the apps icon is pretty low resolution and doesn't look to good on a HD screen. I came back to this forum in the hope of finding a android app and there it was. Thanks again |

I just used these same instructions and installed it on my Samsung Galaxy Wi-Fi Tab. pinballLooking and kitarolivier I have a sgIII and have tried these steps and have run into some problems. I know this is a beta and so probably a combo of the sw and me (heavily leaning on me ) 1) Downloaded program and installed plugin 2) downloaded apk, copied to phone (download folder) and installed. 3) Opened plugin, selected Only Flagged DVDs (6 items flagged in dvdp) limit cast to 15 limit crew to 10 use adb. At this point it said -- Click Refresh so I pressed the refresh button. It then simply froze Tried to close out the plugin but there was no way. Had to TaskManager it. This of course closed all dvd profiler. When I started DVD profiler it of course has to do a "Repair Profile Database". Then restarted dvdprofiler, reconnected phone. used Astro filemanager on phone to see the folders built on phone. Used Windows File Explorer to find the folders on the phone (making sure good connection). 1) Opened plugin, selected Only Flagged DVDs (6 items flagged in dvdp) limit cast to 15 limit crew to 10 use adb. At this point it said to -- Click Refresh .. i did and I get NO DEVICE CONNECTED. So for some reason it doesn't find the phone. Since everything on windows sees the phone/memory as a 'external drive' i tried using the Radio Button 'User Removable Disk'. After selecting the folder that has the file DROID_DVDP_IS_HERE and then tried to do the export. It came up with a folder like C:\Users\Dsig\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\321EKX3R Then tried Export Collection. Said it was creating/Deleting a bunch of folders .. then tried to do the profiles and listed a bunch of Error : Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\Dsig\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\321EKX3R\images/filename for jpg.jpg It then shows Dumping tables ... Saving Actor Saving audio_channel Saving audio_format ... Copy DB to Device.... Removing device databases Error while deleting database files Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\Dsig\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\321EKX3R\database' Copying database to 'C:\Users\Dsig\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\321EKX3R\database' Error while copying database file Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\Dsig\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\321EKX3R\databaseDroid_dvdp.ob' Export Done Although at this point the droid_dvdp file is 12k in size nothing is there. Although 'logically' it should have worked .. but logic and computers very seldom go together. I am going to try to figure out how to 'copy' the stuff accross. kitarolivier, if you allow for suggestions here are a couple. Look forward to finished product .. happy to buy. 1) apk installs but forces itself to the phones memory card not added card. Should allow for that if available. 2) would it possible to either add a 'stop process' button or remind the user they are doing the FULL data base. Like i said .. i am very excited about this app and really look forward to using it. Happy to pay for it. Thanks DTsig | | | Last edited: December 23, 2012 5:14 PM by dtsig |
