If Kathy is behind NAT as I assume TeamViewer would be better option.

I sent a support ticket and received a message that the problem was on my computer.

So, I came to work tonight and installed profiler on a different computer. After I installed profiler, I tried to download my collection and I ran into the exact same problem.

Since I'm using a different computer, modem, router and internet service, I think the problem must be on invelos' end.

It looks like I might need to find a new program for my DVDs - invelos doesn't want me anymore!

Just to be sure... On the other computer did you check to be sure that the firewall and all was allowing it to work?

Socket Error #10054 Connection reset by peer.
This is server side error you may get it when the quota is excited on the server for example, or firewall or you ISP can reset the connection.

from Microsoft

Quote:
Connection reset by peer.

An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. This normally results if the peer application on the remote host is suddenly stopped, the host is rebooted, the host or remote network interface is disabled, or the remote host uses a hard close (see setsockopt for more information on the SO_LINGER option on the remote socket). This error may also result if a connection was broken due to keep-alive activity detecting a failure while one or more operations are in progress. Operations that were in progress fail with WSAENETRESET. Subsequent operations fail with WSAECONNRESET.

Perhaps someone can help you, it's beyond me as well.

If you have a open support ticket at Invelos ask them which address and port the connection is using so you can use telnet to debug the problem.

Did you try it with a fresh download of the software DVDP?

This just happened to me, I clicked try again a few times, then gave up - got message that my DB was uploaded.

Then, tried again straight away and it worked

So, try, and then let it fail, and before restarting the program try again, maybe it will work for you

Invelos is working on it for me.

I have tried all the other suggestions - I'm at a loss as to why this suddenly happened.

It must be a big bad Cyberbully.

Could it be the size of your collection? Maybe the amount of data trying to be transferred is causing profiler to hang or time out. If you could find someone else with as many titles as you have and see if there are any problems.

I know of several people who's collections are much bigger and that has not been an issue.

This is the first time I've ever had a problem - I can't stand not being able to get things right.

Did you check to see if there were any new windows updates since you last were able to upload and download? If so check and see if there are any known problems with any of them, I have had updates mess up other programs before.

I even retstored my computer to the day before I last uploaded my collection.

I've given up trying to fix this. Hopefully invelos support will have a solution. If not, then I'm just going to wait until I get my new computer back in a couple of weeks - if I can't get it to work on that I'll look for a different program for my collection.

Did you try to deactivate your anti-virus-software? Maybe an update for it is the cause of your problem...

Did you try to download your database (to an empty one)?

The invelos support team suggested I try "enabling the alternate connection method under Tools->Options->Online" and it worked!

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions and help.
