So: Adam/Carolla/ becomes Adam//Carolla. Uncredited is not entered as the displayed name doesn't change. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

Since you are on a roll you might want to consider the Carolla filter for the case of /Adam/Carolla (no first name). I'd swear i've seen (and fixed) one of those recently but i can't point to the film. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

I find it hard to catch those records where the last name is in the middle name field. Even when it's a different color, it didn't always catch my eye. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? If a change is made that affects the displayed name, the Credited As field will be set, if not already set, and if not an uncredited member.
So:
J.D./Dawodu becomes J./D./Dawodu [J.D. Dawodu] J D/Dawodu becomes J./D./Dawodu [J D Dawodu] J. D./Dawodu becomes J./D./Dawodu
Not affected by this filter: JD/Dawodu J/Dawodu J.D./Bob/Dawodu Does this filter apply for all such names? DB Woodside coming to mind here...as one of the recent debates Steve |

| Posted: | | | | I don't know how the DB Woodside name has ended up in the database, but this filter does strongly suggest that Ken intends us to enter the initials in separate fields unless you can show that it's all one name. I guess the only reason DB Woodside hasn't been affected by the filter is, how would the filter know the difference between two initials next to each other and a two-letter name like Yu or Li?
But I personally wouldn't have any objection to DB Woodside becoming D./B./Woodside [DB Woodside] - and I think that follows the spirit of the filter. |

| Posted: | | | | While I don't believe we really need a 'credited as' entry for these...since it is just parsing...I welcome the filter as it draws that line in the sand. Not affected by this filter: JD/Dawodu J/Dawodu J.D./Bob/Dawodu Thank you!! I'm particularly pleased that this is still in line with the "list names exactly as they are in the credits" rule: no space on the screen means no space in the "credited as" field - exactly as I've been handling these since day one. Anyway, it's great that we can finally leave this issue behind us. |
