Skip,
I hear your fears and I share them. The creation of a set of rules is one of the best things to happen to this program. I just feel that perhaps it's time to relax a little and allow for exceptions to be made from time to time.

That said, we obviously have to be very vigilant so we don't revert back to the mess of yore. But with a userbase as dedicated to data accuracy as this one, and with screeners as watchful as we have, I don't think that will ever happen.

By the way, hate to mention it, but the speech marks are actually included in the title. Should we ... erm ... nah, forget I mentioned it.

That's not funny.

You too are misunderstanding. They are not MY standards. If you put up an argument, I will try to find a weakness in it. The users have taught me to do that, they will exploit ANY weakness they can find and in some cases recently even invent weaknesses where NONE exists. I have far better things to do than to engage in this (expletive deleted). I won't even go into some of things I am thinking at this particular moment...far too incendiary, but not aimed at you.

God, I hope it is. I am about for whatever will work, I am not about people focusing on a single title to the detriment of everything else. This has been a burr under my saddle for far too long.

I have said I WANT Dan's idea to work and I hope that it will, though I will be nervous about it for awhile, waiting for someone else to throw another shoe. It SOUNDS to me like it should work as long as there aren't any more shoes out there.

Sorry, guys I am NOT going to apologize for being vocal and opinionated.

Skip, it's your right to represent your opinion (like other users). But maybe YOU have te wisdom to stop the escalating of useless discussions.

8ballMax said in another thread "After all, we are adults, aren’t we?"

I said: "I would not bet on this"

same here... so all antagonist should take a deep breath and think about the fact that we all share the same hobby and there is no reason for any insults

Just in case you missed it on the end of page 107. What? We're only up to how many? Surely not.

Dunno what you are referring to.... can't be the SRP contribution as that was accepted as a valid contribution.

Care to enlighten us, as at the moment this looks like a groundless accusation.

Because you are an adult.  Act the part.

Ok, you asked for it....My father used to say...."If he jumps off the bridge, are you going to too?"  (He didn't really say that, I lied.)  You apparantely have some bad blood with a few in this forum, but the war won't be over until someone stops shooting !!!!!  And I hate to be the bearer of bad news but someone has to be first...doesn't mean you lose just means the war is over.

Acceptance does not mitigate the fact that you violated the Rules, all it proves is that you successfully stuffed the votes and Ken and Gerri accepted it on that basis, You STILL violated the ruyles, and incited others to follow suit.

Rick:

I exoect nothing from someone with the intelligence level of a gnat, such as yoursalef.

Classic. Insult someone's intelligence and spell 13% of the words wrong

Personally I like what Dan said those many pages ago. Something about the title being found "in quotes" as in "Bram Stroker's Dracula" Seems easy enough to me.

I find it absolutely hilarious that you take Skip to task for his lousy spelling, then you turn around and do the same thing yourself in the very same message.  It is "Bram STOker", not "Bram STROker".  Hoist on your own petard, eh, James?

I should point out that Skip's spelling is not from a lack of being able to spell, but from typing too fast.  They are called "typos" and nobody is immune from that.

Ya got me. I didn't know somebody's name. I guess I do have the intelligence of a gnat.

Can't believe I didn't know his name. What kind of a fool would get a name wrong. I suk.

Although....

it's not like it was RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

(For the record I am not James, as my signature would and has shown for years now. I do however take you calling me James as a compliment. He is actually much more articulate than I .... and would probably know it's Stoker

For Peabody it is exactly this kind of totally unnecessary garbage that I refer to, Though this one did not directly involve me. It was still totally and completely unnecessary on Rick's part.
