Since the question sounded like a quiz, how about:

How many countries in Former Soviet Union?

It also sounds like the rest of Canada like to wind them up about it (again think Scotland within the UK only more so), explaining AESP's "sensitivity".

This is a good analogy North. For the others in the discussion don't take my "it's none of your bussiness" that seriously. It just that it's a really particuliar situation in my province and it can't be compare with what happen in the USA or any other country. Not the fact that half of the population want to get rid of the ROC, but the fact that our province had a very strong cinema industry who is in a much better shape than the ROC one who is very hurt by the USA industry since they share the same language. The ROC had no right to take the credits for the hard work the French population had put to had an healthy and working industry (not that anything surprised me anymore from them).

This isn't the first time that Terry bring this subject and even if I have nothing against him personally, that was posted as a political jab against the Province of Quebec and he knows perfectly well it is.

For those who doesn't get it, sorry try to do some search to understand the particullar situation here.

To answer your question Hans : 15 countries

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Not sure at 100% but I think that most of the Russian province had an autonomy status also versus the Russia (wich had changed a lot when Vladimir Putin became the Russian President in 2000)

I'm not too sure what ROC stands for? so I don't think others here would either ..,, and a Political jab at Quebec?
Now that you bring it up I wasn't even doing that conscientiously..

I just thought that maybe Invelos was doing favors for Quebec and giving them their own status. (again) .. Oops there's that Jab..
.. .. So please lighten up,  No one is threatening to take anything away from you .. I was Only bringing up the fact that apart from Locality ( which is okay for DVD distribuition in Canada)  I just felt that when you do a Country of Origin for the Producing of a Film or Movie that was Created in Canada., we only need One Country for the drop down box Not a confusing Two Listings ..

Please give me an NSFBSK break

You don't know what ROC means

It wasn't a poilitical jab

You have already bring this exact same thing in the past and no one is confused by this except you...

The thing is that those movies aren't made in Canada but in the Province of Quebec. Our industry and the ROC industry are quite distinct on this...

Is Quebec a part of the country Canada?

(This requires a one word answer, not a political diatribe)

Is it a part of Canada? Simple question. If it is then country of origin is Canada. The key word here is country not province.

I kind of like keeping them the way they are. If anything I wish we had more options for CoO.

Well, seeing as the name of the field is "Country of Origin", and Quebec is not a country, I do not believe that it belongs in the list.

Trust Me  Kathy, a lot of our Taxes go directly to Quebec on a day to day basis... Quebec is not a country on its own.. It would like to be.. I don't why since they are getting a large portion of funding from the rest of here..

Hong Kong is part of China buuuuut:

Hong Kong’s Basic Law, as agreed between China and Britain, means Hong Kong will retain its own currency (the Hong Kong dollar), legal system, and parliamentary system for fifty years. This means, for all practical purposes, Hong Kong is actually a separate country to China.

People from China require visa's to enter HK and vice versa, so it's a tricky one.

Hong Kongers have their own separate passports, the HKSAR passport.
