The request will in any case be VERY relevant for those poor sods who are still on dial-up connections. And as DVDP is at least intended as an international programme, there might be more of those out there than you might think.

Moreover, in other threads you can read that some users will use DVDP to profile other stuff: wine collections, books, CDs, beers, girlfriends...

Last time I checked, the Invelos database had no added value for those.

I'm one of them

But DVDP isn't a problem unless this is your modem

I was flashed back to this recently when I re-watched WarGames this past weekend.

To me, one of the beauties of DVDP is that I can input one piece of information (UPC) and instantly have all of the data for that DVD in my local database instantly.

I do not have the time or the inclination to manually build a profile for every DVD that I buy from scratch..

The problem is that, when I download a profile from the online, it takes me more time to correct it (linking of actors, overview, studios, genres, removing most crew...) than to built it from scratch. Really, for me, online data has quite no value, even if I understand that some people may be happy with those data.

Living without of course could work, but than you can also make an Excel sheet

With linking actors, headshots and image galleries ???    (all things that the program allows to do easily on local, but not with online data...)

Don't know what "linking of actors" expecially is, but Excel is very powerful, so I think there would be a way. Of course it wouldn't be as comfortable as DVDP but you could do many things.*

But don't want to make advertisement for a special program, I think it would also go with other office tools.

*The problem is just to know how.
