Another contribution has appeared - it is riddled with errors - AGAIN.
I might be a bit anal about this, but why would a contributor not bother to check an overview submission to ensure all errors are eradicated. Otherwise we are leaving it to another user to fix all these problems???

UPC: 786936-227130
Contributors notes - Overview edited for em dash

Firstly, what a pointless sole amendment, even worse than a genre change.

3 errors found with quick glance at overview;
Father Of The Bride should be capitalised
straitlaced incorrectly spelt as straight-laced
sister should be in italics

I just think a No vote could help make the data more correct if voter lists the errors and contributor reacts positively?

Indeed. Vote no and include your reason. You are not obligated to PM nor are you called upon to vote yes with a comment.

A PM is appropriate, abusing your voting privileges is NOT.PERIOD, richie. If you are man enough to deal via PM then fine I will fix what you wish, if you aren't then I will simply say you are abusing the Rules and your voting privileges and i will point this behavior out to the screeners every time. Your call, not mine. I will only say grow up.

I think it's cutting the definition of a partial contribution a bit thin to only look at italics on an overview and not the content.
Absolutely. I mean, honestly, how hard is it to proof-read the overview before submission?

If you are sooooooo touchy about your submissions that a PM is the only way (without offending you) to correct errors, then perhaps you are too thin skinned to be putting your ideas up for a vote.
Indeed. The mandatory(!) comment on a No-Vote is the absolute proper way to communicate ones position on the matter. If the contributor doesn't agree with it, fine. At the end of the day it is the screener who decides not the votes.

Yeah, James, just ignore the Rules. They don't count, you make them as you go along anyway.

If I have made an error I would expect a voter to vote no, pointing out my mistake in the space provided,  in order for me to correct it.

I have had people send me an occasional pm pointing out my error but usually they just point it out where they are voting. I would not expect they are required to send a pm.

I might be inclined to agre with you under normal circumstances. BUT, just as with another user who behaves in the same manner, once the issue is corrected I seldom have seen him return to vote Yes. Now to me to me that speaks to the user having an agenda or a vendetta. In fact the other user recently had an issue simply with notes and once the notes were edited, he did not change his vote to Yes, he changed it to Neutral. I am simply reading the behavior of these two users in the context of their NO votes and refusal to then vote YES. I therefore view their behavior as an abuse of their voting privileges and will respond accordingly re: the screeners. If nothing else, even IF i presume that their behavior is not that of an agenda or a vendetta, it is at the very least highly disrespectful and that is behavior that is unacceptable. This whole poll is simply that he got upset because I have started pointing out his behavior as unacceptable, if he wishes to be more respectful then I have no problem with him, but don't piss on my pants and tell me it's raining. It's a two way street, f you want to meet me halfway fine, otherwise...well to put it bluntly...take long walk off a short pier. I have had enough of being abused for the disgusting behavior of others and I will grant them the SAME respect or lack thereof that they grant me.

Clearly, to me richie is not interested in treating people with respect, he simply wants to be able to run amuck and make up his own Rules, and when he gets called on it, instead of dealing with someone respectfully he brings it here and whines. No I won't play his game, thank you very much, i have enough of the disrespect.

Maybe thats how others feel about you?  As a long time lurker I find you are an impossible person.  No matter what the query, the question or anything you come across as someone who just starts to randomly CAPITALISE to get THEIR opinions ACROSS in a typically UNFRIENDLY manner.  You ruin the forums for me.

Generally I would No vote (with explanation; by PM if necessary) if there were errros in an overview... IMO the 'Partial Contributions allowed' Rule means you can leave out some items (cast, crew etc), but that which you DO contribute should be correct.

As per a few other users though, if a contribution had lots of other useful update info and it was just a small error I'd probably Yes vote but let the contributor know there was an error so they could fix it when they had time (or, in my case, access as I can only contribute at weekends).

If you want to look for vendettas, agendas, and abusive behavior, look to your own contribution notes that you personalize with libelous drivel to attack anyone who dares to vote 'no' against your contributions.

I won't vote 'yes' to a user who abuses me in this manner. I will not condone your behavior. If you want to fix the situation, start with yourself.

Nor will i condone you making up the Rules as yiou go along, James. Nor your unwillingness to do anything but vote NO, since it was YOU who changed a vote to neutral after the notes had been edited tom meet your request, and since you refuse to vote yes after concerns are addressed.

Your behavior is as unacceptable as Richie's. You like to try and sound so reasionable and so rational, james, but....you are anything but.
