the reputation system is a means of reporting bad posts. If enough red arrows are shown against a post then Ken will be pointed to the post so it can be removed. This has been effective against spammers etc.
And the call for moderators was done before - and I can only imagine there were no (or not enough) volunteers to make this practical. The reputation system was brought in after the call for moderators had failed. I am sorry can you tell me or show me the post where moderators where asked for? The way I remember it someone got their panties in a twist about a post made because they said they were being abused by another poster. Within a week we had this rep system. |
