Give me unlimited genres and unlimited studios and unlimited media companies at the local level. If you only want me to contribute 3 standard genres and 3 studios and 3 media companies, fine. But let me customize my database at the local level as much as I want so that I can properly record the data for my local needs.

So we free to enter anything we want into any field now, as long as someone "expresses a desire"?

That isn't what I said.  What I said was it is the information people wanted to enter into this field.

It is also the reason the field name was changed from 'Distributor' to 'Media Publisher'.  That didn't sit well with the people who wanted to track the distributor, so we were given more fields...and a new field name...to accommodate both camps.  While you may not like, or understand it, that is what the field was designed for.

How you can twist that into entering anything into any field is beyond me.
