Please allow me to direct to the fine print. DHV is NOT, I repeat NOT, a distributor of ANYTHING, the distributor is BVHE ALWAYS for any subsidiary oif Disney. The do produce the DVD and could be considered a label not unlike DisneyDVD, but they are NOT a distributor, they produce (manufacture) the DVD and turn it over to BVHE for distribution.

So on the R1 version of Sin City, should the media companies be both

Dimension Home Video (I am assuming DVD Production Co)
Buena Vista Home Entertainment (DVD Distributor)

I am really curious what the screeners will decide.

Canadian Sin City Blu-ray is 8 Yes 2 No.
Canadian From Dusk Till Dawn Blu-ray is 3 YEs 3 No.

I honestly think as Dimension Home Video is on the back cover it should be added.
If we do not add it, on what source do we not add it.

Peter, do you have any source that Dimension Home Video has Nothing to do with both releases tho they are on the cover ?

cheers

Charlie:

I will tell that for my purposes it is Distribution Company ONLY. That data, as i have said numerous times is easily determined for 99% of all titles. When you get off into these other areas, which are not so easily defined, especially when there is only a logo involved, and are not used consistently by all the Studios. That said DHV is one of the few that I can recognize as a brand (label) so, if you want ito do it, I won't vote against it, but it will not get into my local data intentionally.

Donnie:

DHV is on From Dusk Until Dawn and is part of what i just referred to for Charlie.

The problem is that a lot of users don't know the difference between a movie and a dvd distributor and so they will enter both of them in the media companies field. I think this whole idea of media companies is confusing and if it were up to me I would expand the studios to 5 entries and I would rename media companies to distributor.

I have said this from the very beginning, I continue to believe that this was implented in far too much haste with absolutely no understanding of what was wanted, how it was to be defined or where it was to be found. Not the first time and i fear not the last time we will see this kind of thing.

Well,

it can cause problems, but if everyone pays attention it should be fine.

The Studios will ALWAYS be in the opening or end credits of the movie.

Distributors and publishers you will see on the cover or before the movie starts on the DVD.

What worries me a bit more is, if we NOT stick to what is written on the cover, who decides on which reason and knowledge, what we will enter in the media companies field.

If there is Alliance Atlantis AND Dimension Home Video on the back cover, we have to enter both in my humble opinion
The No voters gave no source or link, from where they know, that only Alliance is the Media Company for those 2 titles

well, in a few days we will know, if the contributions will get accepted or not

cheers

Yes, for out purposes, they should both be entered.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
