Since there is no text title on the front cover (just a graphical logo), we have to use another source for the title. In this case the credit block fits quite well with the title in text form used by the film makers.

I agree, besides a majority of users does not want to use "the title" on the front cover in these situations.

This IMO only applies when the program limitations make it impossible to enter what is seen on the front cover (as with the Batman logo).

As long as I do not contribute, I work as I want, and have certainly not to obey you  .

Anyway, that example is funny. It was very easy to find the old thread, searching on T4XI. But Dj Doena did not found it because he had not the idea to use T4XI. And what about an user trying to upload that profile by title ? How many chances that he types T4XI and finds the profile ???

Completely invalid argument, why? because I did think to search using T4XI while looking for the same thread that I also couldn't find. I just searched using google because it generally returns better results than the forums search. it didn't come up and I didn't try the forums search. which does come up with the result. Plus, its only your assumption that DJ didn't search on T4XI. You know what they say about assumptions....

Additionally, just trying the forum search now, search both taxi and taxi 4 both found the thread (any date, subject only, contribution forums (in theory that only limits the results I had to search through to see if it was found, but it should come up under the same terms with a broader search))

This one had a big discussion on the Rules forum, if you have access, it's here.

Interesting. I am quite certain that there was a public argument about this very title. Has it been movied into the Rules forum? Because I can't find that topic anymore, not even with google.

Did you mean this one?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I never vote on contributions. I consider that only first contributions are interesting.

So, I never have to follow the rules.

As I tried and found immediately the topic searching on T4XI, I suppose that DJ would have also find it if he had done the same thing. He said he didn't find it, so...

...yes, it's pure assumption...

I beg to differ - just by visiting and posting in the forums you would have to follow rules (although it seems it would be best if you stopped doing that also...  )

It's also a rather arrogant statement IMO.

Though not nearly as extensive... there is rules for participating in the forum as well. See them HERE

Note that I am not necessarily saying you broke any of those rules at this point... just pointing out there is indeed forum rules that must be followed as well for posting.

Irrelevant.  That fact that a majority of users want to break the rule doesn't mean it is 'ok' to do so.  Until Ken changes the rule, if we can enter the title from the cover, that is what we have to do.  JMHO

Unlike the 'Batman' logo, T4XI is a text based title which can be entered into profiler just fine.  I see nothing, in the rules, that would support throwing this out and using the credit block instead.

I think there may be an interpretation issue here. The rules say "take the title from the from cover". The question in my mind is - Is T4XI really the title of the film? The fact that it's on the cover does not necessarily mean that it's the title, as the case with the Batman logo illustrates. There is nothing that says that a logo cannot be text based and still just be a logo. IMHO.

That said, if Invelos accepts T4XI I personally wouldn't go against that.
